Any of you proud LT rifle owners tried out the Beast? Received my 18" 7.62 OBR three weeks ago and am looking for some high end glass to mount on my king of the mountain rifle. I like the great reviews on the NF NXS F1 but am intrigued with the Beast. Appears to be a top notch scope but seems like it may be a bit complicated to use. For those who own one, can you give me the pros and cons. I already know it's expensive. Thanks in advance!

Cons:
1.  it is big and heavy

2.  much like the SB 5-25, it tunnels from 5x to about 7x

3.  the elevation turret is a monstrosity

4.  I am less fond of the mil reticle choices than other scopes, but thats a subjective thing.  The Mil-R is nice, but it takes some practice before the windage values become second nature

5.  There are fewer one-piece ring mounts available because of the enlarged saddle section.

Pros:

1.  it has superb glass

2.  you would be hard-pressed to ever run out of elevation

3.  it should be very durable, given it is a NF

4.  it is virtually assembled by hand, and made in tbe USA

5.  illumination is multi color, green or red, and is night vision compatable

6.  i like the brake on the windage

Hope that helps.  I have a few pics of my 18" tobr with the beast mounted on it if you would like.  It doesnt reside on the tobr, but i took a few pics while i was testing out the scope.

^^^^ Jaycoux summed it up really well. It is a great scope the biggest neg for myself is that it is BIG, the elevation knob is even bigger. I don't mind big and heavy with performance, and this scope has the performance but the size is just a tad over the line for my preference, it is still a top tier optic that will do most anything you want including doubling as a weapon, hammer and prybar when needed.

ETA: For weapon, hammer and pry-bar use will require a Larue QD lever mount......
