I have a couple Aimpoint Patrol Rifle Optics and I'm thinking about swithing them to LaRue monts. I haven't been able to determine which mount would fit the PRO. Any information would be appreciated.

I went to a carbine skill building day last week. At the second stage as I was going through the Kyle Lamb 9 Hole drill I noticed my Aimpoint red dot was drifting up and left away from the front iron sight. Normally they co-witness. The Range Safety (a friend of mine) loaned me his rifle to complete the drill. He held my rifle. While I was clearing his rifle and getting up off the ground suddenly the Aimpoint fell off my rifle. Apparently I didn't have the plate under the large screw properly aligned with the rail and it vibrated loose during the recoil.
Another reason is I have a couple of rifles with no optics and it would be easier to move the Aimpoint between rifles using a quick detach mount. |

| I was looking at mounts for a Aimpoint pro too. I have the Aimpoint M3 with the cantilever mount, think its the LT129 also, and love the way it rides abit forward. One thing that I don't like is when running my PVS-14 behind it theres a gap. I'm not sure if the other mount would close the gap but I'm assuming it would. Not sure if its going to matter, someone pointed it out. Would that gap between the Aimpoint and PVS-14 matter a lot? |
| My Aimpoint PRO rides in a LT-129. Went with LT-129 for the ability to add magnifier in the future. If you order the PRO from LT you get a discounted LT mount...shipped same day about 3 weeks ago for me...placed order at 2:00 PM had it on my doorstep the next day! Also makes a perfect lower 1/3 cowitness with DD standard front sight post and DD rear iron sights... |
