I have a predatOBR 556 16.1 coming my way and want to put a nice piece of glass on it... using it for targets 50-300 yards and killing coyotes.

I own an eotech, aimpoint t1 on my other Larues, but I wanted something with more magnification...

I am trying to choose between Bushnell Elite Tactical Riflescope, SMRS 1-6.5x24mm With Mount or wait for the Trijicon VCOG with mount...

I don't have any experience with the Bushnell, and not sure if the VCOG is even out yet - but was waiting to buy from Larue with mount... any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance fellas.

Don't forget the nightforce 2.5-10 x42 or us optics 1 to 8 power!

Don't have any experience with the Bushnell Elite Tactical Riflescope, but if you're open to other 1-6 type scopes, the Leupold mk6 1-6 is a awesome piece of kit.

I would venture to guess that you won't be happy with a 1-6 if you're shooting out to 300 yards...

Bushnell Elite Tactical 3.5-21 HDMR with horus is my favorite not-too-expensive but not-too-cheap scope for my AR's.

I am also looking for that perfect scope for my tOBR .762 with a 14.5" barrel - one that is not too large for the shorter barrel length, can reach out and touch something at distance but can also be dialed down for 50-100 yds....not too heavy, easy to operate, reliable, good glass, maybe illuminated.  Not crazy expensive.  I'm not asking for too much, am I?  Is there anything out there for me???

This Leupy 1-6x with CMR-W reticle is what I went with on my 556 tOBR. It is awesome.

I put a CQBSS on the 7.62 tOBR and am really liking it.  I put it on a 104 but it seems overly high, might adjust in the future.

Yep. Sits perfect upon my OBR/556, and is fantastic.

I use an old Trijicon Accupoint 1-4 with German Reticle on my 5.56 16in 3 gun rig.  Can nail plates at 300 yards with no problem at all.  It's almost too easy.   I have no experience with the Leupold 1-6 but hear good things about it.  If budget is no issue then the Swarovski 1-6 with BRT reticle is probably the best optic there is for what you are looking for.    Although I think you can almost buy another PredatOBR for the price of the optic.  I personally have seen lots of them on rifles in 3 gun competitions and they truly are as good as folks say they are.  But again, they better be for that price.

I just got a Vortex 4-16-50 PST with mil rads for my PredatOBR 7.62.  Very nice glass for the money (about $800).  I've got a friend who makes 1000 yard shots on steel using that scope and a 16 inch 7.62 AR variant.    I mainly bought this scope because it's what a lot f the long range shooters in my area use.  I didn't really look into Nightforce but hear nothing but praises about them.

Thanks guys - now I'm looking at the nightforce or leupold... I hear nothing but good things about nightforce so I'm leaning that way - pretty pricey though.

FWIW, I have 2 Bushnell Elite Tactical scopes....the 3-12x44 & the 6-24x50..both of which are First Focal Plane with the G2DMR reticle....which I really like, and is basically the same as the Horus reticle.
They're not the ballz-out best, but they're also not the most expensive....and you do get a whole LOT of scope for the $.

ETA:  I have the 3-12 in a LaRue Tactical LT-139 and have used it on my 5.56....it's never lost zero.  I'm about to mount the 6-24 in a LT-111 for my OBR 7.62

I have a 1-6 SWFA Super Sniper HD and really like it.

Have a night force NXS F1 3.5-15 with H59 reticle on my tOBr  7.62  16.1" barrel.  Hitting steel at 1000 yards consistently.  Had to swallow hard when I bought it from LaRue, but you know what they say, cry once.   And with the LaRue QD mount it's easy to switch back and forth to the SCAR heavy.

My next purchase will be a Leupold Mark 6-3x18…hands down! I have a Mark 6-1x6 and an ATACR…both are equally great and serve their individual purpose very well, but the Leupolds are sweet!

I went with a Viper PST 4-16x50 FFP EBR-1 on my 16" 7.62 tOBR in a LaRue LT-111 mount.

Any idea how this compares to the Swarovski 3-18 on the larue site?

I have a Bushnell Tactical Elite 1-6.5x and it is an amazing scope.  I got it in SFP and am glad I did.  Its really clear glass, great illumination, true 1x on the bottom end, and 6.5x at the top end is good for a variable power scope on a 5.56.

Save some money and take a look at the Horus Vision optics.  They are becoming the standard for FFP reticles.

Swarovski has absolutely outstanding glass but, you will pay for it.  Great scopes!

I have an S&B 1.1-4x20 short dot that I use.  I'll probably put it on my tOBR when it arrives.  Great glass.  Expensive and heavy.

OUTSTANDING optic!!  Bulletproof and has been the choice by Tier 1 for a while.  Was developed with the help of LV. Short Dot that is.

I went with the Bushnell 3.5x21x50 with 34mm tube and Horus reticle. I saw some Seals shooting a .50 with that on. Thought it was good enough for a 7.62.

Ended up going with the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 on the LT104 mount for my 556 predatOBR. Thanks for all of the advice guys.

Of course it is backordered... sad face.
