I have a predatOBR 556 16.1 coming my way and want to put a nice piece of glass on it... using it for targets 50-300 yards and killing coyotes.
I own an eotech, aimpoint t1 on my other Larues, but I wanted something with more magnification... I am trying to choose between Bushnell Elite Tactical Riflescope, SMRS 1-6.5x24mm With Mount or wait for the Trijicon VCOG with mount... I don't have any experience with the Bushnell, and not sure if the VCOG is even out yet - but was waiting to buy from Larue with mount... any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance fellas. |
| I am also looking for that perfect scope for my tOBR .762 with a 14.5" barrel - one that is not too large for the shorter barrel length, can reach out and touch something at distance but can also be dialed down for 50-100 yds....not too heavy, easy to operate, reliable, good glass, maybe illuminated. Not crazy expensive. I'm not asking for too much, am I? Is there anything out there for me??? |

I use an old Trijicon Accupoint 1-4 with German Reticle on my 5.56 16in 3 gun rig. Can nail plates at 300 yards with no problem at all. It's almost too easy. I have no experience with the Leupold 1-6 but hear good things about it. If budget is no issue then the Swarovski 1-6 with BRT reticle is probably the best optic there is for what you are looking for. Although I think you can almost buy another PredatOBR for the price of the optic. I personally have seen lots of them on rifles in 3 gun competitions and they truly are as good as folks say they are. But again, they better be for that price.
I just got a Vortex 4-16-50 PST with mil rads for my PredatOBR 7.62. Very nice glass for the money (about $800). I've got a friend who makes 1000 yard shots on steel using that scope and a 16 inch 7.62 AR variant. I mainly bought this scope because it's what a lot f the long range shooters in my area use. I didn't really look into Nightforce but hear nothing but praises about them. |

FWIW, I have 2 Bushnell Elite Tactical scopes....the 3-12x44 & the 6-24x50..both of which are First Focal Plane with the G2DMR reticle....which I really like, and is basically the same as the Horus reticle.
They're not the ballz-out best, but they're also not the most expensive....and you do get a whole LOT of scope for the $. ETA: I have the 3-12 in a LaRue Tactical LT-139 and have used it on my 5.56....it's never lost zero. I'm about to mount the 6-24 in a LT-111 for my OBR 7.62 |
| Have a night force NXS F1 3.5-15 with H59 reticle on my tOBr 7.62 16.1" barrel. Hitting steel at 1000 yards consistently. Had to swallow hard when I bought it from LaRue, but you know what they say, cry once. And with the LaRue QD mount it's easy to switch back and forth to the SCAR heavy. |

My next purchase will be a Leupold Mark 6-3x18…hands down! I have a Mark 6-1x6 and an ATACR…both are equally great and serve their individual purpose very well, but the Leupolds are sweet! Any idea how this compares to the Swarovski 3-18 on the larue site? |
