Not sure but I have the rough on all mine, even the Chef's gun. When I ordered her pink stuff from LT she said she wants the rough.

It's pretty close. My tAR came with a smooth APEG and I just finished swapping it out with a rough one. I can't say if they are exactly the same but my grip panels are much closer in texture to the rough grip than the smooth one.
