Having a cookout this weekend for a special occasion and want to use some dust. I think there was a recipe thread around here at some point but I'm not good at the search since my membership lapsed.

Start with "whatever" and add Dillo Dust. success

Done it with eggs, corn on the cob, even popcorn. Probably should go to the store in the morning and get a slab of meat then rub it down really well before heading off to work. That way it can get good until grilling time on Saturday. What are some of the better meats you've done?
6/6/2013 6:39:45 PM EDT
[#3]
just rub in as needed, amount determined by you.  let set for a while then cook.

Roasted corn on the cob (on the grill) or 350 in the oven for 35 minutes. Add butter and dillo dust

There's an thought. It probably makes even the worst pie taste awesome.

I start with a Dry Rub of Dillo Dust, BBQ the chicken Skin On/Bone In.  You want to rub skin and get some dust under the skin.

Let that cook up and top off with a little bit of Sweet Baby Rays.

My wife makes some mean Venezuelan dishes (seeing as how she was born in Caracas). Her attempts at Cuban cuisine have resulted in angry hordes of our friends and neighbors fleeing the house to find a new place to hang out.

Edit: Oh crap thank you for the membership! Man that was nice of you. And the link to the other thread. You're quite the man tonight.

I live on the east coast, mid atlantic, so I have no idea.  You can use your favorite BBQ sauce to finish it off.
The Dillo Dust gives it a great base.

I'll check the different stores for that SBR. We tend to like Montgomery Inn. It's the dillo dust of BBQ sauce.

I dunno, 3M; pre-Castro Cuban cigars tasted pretty damn good.

Nice assist with 901!

Yep, they sell it at HEB. We went to Leander the other weekend and I asked my daughter to pick up a few bottles. She bought 15!

Anything you might want to trade for? I got an extra bottle or two of DD here...and could send you some Sweet Baby Ray's if you don't have access to it down there.

But as you're in one of the barbecue nirvanas, you probably have access to top shelf sauce!

This thread is making me hungry...

I always need DD, but not required at this time. We do have SBRs here and it is the best bottled BBQ sauce going.

However, I make my own

There are some basic ingedients, Brown sugar, Tomato paste, vinegar, etc but generally it depends on what's cooking, who I'm cooking for and how much heat can they take.
