I know there are only a few of them out there....not sure when any more will make it. Looking for some honest feedback, just just from those lover the LaRue product, but real comparisons from folks with experience ith other AR platforms. My only experience with AR platforms, until this year, has been with Colt. My HBAR sot well, but did need a good cleaning after about 300rnd and while it shot OK, it never was one I'd say put me over the moon.
Enough people have Costa's now......and I know there is going to be bias, but what are he pros and cons with this platform? Please try to keep this objective...might not be possible, bit its worth a try. I've have both.....a Costa and an HK 556A1. For one, I don't like the trigger in HK. Changing this out is an absolute must for me to do a real evaluation. Anyone else wish to chime in? |

What's a Costa? http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/slappy96/6d1696a1e0e1a1ff11472b3b79d5c415_zps954c2e69.jpg

1. Swap the recoil spring for a blue one.
2. Shoot the piss out of it and take full credit for the awesome accuracy. 3. Invest in razors because you will shave more often. The 14.5" barrel rules. Ergonomics are great, love the handguard. It's not a featherweight but similar to a standard 16" with rails. Use less lube than you would on a mil-spec Colt. The finish seems to be holding up well. |

Not sure I understand the razor blade comment, but i am a bit slow. Thanks for the feedback on the recoil spring. What about the trigger on the HK? I don't have a gauge but it feels like its well over 6-7lbs. Maybe it will loosen up over time? |

The Geissele SSA has a pull weight of about 4.5lb. 2.5 lbs on
the first stage and 2lb on the second stage. |

It's a beast. For some unknown reason it is loud as shit. Must be that surefire break Smooth operation and solid feel. Accurate as hell. Only minor , minor complaint... Heavy. Or at least feels heavy. But not a problem and easily moved passed. Also, I want so bad to put a can on it and flip that adjustable gas block... I love it. |

I can simplify your life immensely. Sell any HK you have, and never buy anything HK again. H&K...................... "Because you suck, and we hate you, but we know you’ll be back. We can beat you down like a trailer park wife, but you’ll come back, you always do."....................

| Speaking of Costa and his edition rifle.... Did something happen between him and LaRue. The LaRue link was taken down from his syndicate a little while back, and now he has announced KAC as a syndicate partner. Wonder if the rest of the rifles are even going to happen. Here's the link to the site. |

The Geissele SSA has a pull weight of about 4.5lb. 2.5 lbs on

Only problem is, for whatever reason, the Gissele for the HK is twice the cost of the SSA....$449, hence my original post. I dumped about all the cash I have to get what I've now got. Would have loved to wait to get my orders right from the factory, but we all know where things are with that situation. t least I;ve got a tOBR lower, but it sounds like they might to pass legislation to short circuit that play as well. The good news is I now at least have some hope I might get the tOBR before any new laws might go into play...Oct 1 would hopefully be the earliest and it is still not a slam dunk. Wasn't expecting to be able to get the Costa, but someone needed the cash now and offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. Just trying to figure out if its worth keeping the HK as well and what is the real value in doing so, or just sell it and be very geatful I got a COsta. With the legal environment in MD what it is, I'm just trying to make sure I have everything I want before our great Governor tries to one up Cuomo for his potential run in 2016 and makes it impossible for those who aren't already in. Thanks to those that have provided real feedback...also glad some of you had some fun flaming me. I'll have my fun fun shooting my guns. |
