I don't want to call and bother anyone during this hectic time so perhaps someone else has some info on this.
I ordered the UDE MagPul furniture kit the other day. Turns out its backordered. With the magazine frenzy is MagPul even currently making anyhting other than magazines? I'm concerned a special LaRue exclusive color furniture set might not be made again for a long time. I don't mind waiting but not if its going to be months. Any insight would be appreciated |

I could be wrong, but I believe that the reason for the backorder of the UDE kit is due to LT sending out the grips and stocks along with the lowers that they've been shipping out recently. The lower for my tOBR/SCOBR came with a UDE CTR and MOE grip, for instance... They will be going back to LT with the lower when it's time to build, of course, since the tOBR/SCOBR is supposed to come with a RAT/APEG combination...
An alternate solution, if you're looking hard at UDE and you'd like to have it in hand sooner rather than later... I haven't looked to see what the price difference would be either way, so keep that in mind... * Swap out the CTR stock for a RAT. While the RAT might be backordered temporarily due to the large volume of orders for it (and rifles where it will come standard), if MagPul continues the focus on magazines, and if I had to put money on it, I would bet on you ordering and receiving an LT RAT before a CTR... * As far as the UDE MOE grip from the kit, IIRC, I've heard more good than bad responses to the ergonomics of the APEG grip. While the APEG doesn't have the storage capability of the MOE/MIAD, I think it more than makes up for it in terms of "natural feel"... Again, due to increased order volume for the APEG / rifles equipped with it, you might experience a backorder as well... Another option to consider is to look in the EE. You may be able to find a complete kit, you may have to buy the kit piece by piece. Hope that helps... |
