Hey Guys,
I was just wandering if anyone else has had problems with their Costa Edition? I have tried feeding mine everything from Winchester white box 45gr to MK262 77gr and I cannot for the life of me get the rifle to cycle. I dont know if "cycle" is the correct word, the rifle will fire and dishcharge the spent brass but it flat out refuses to pick up another round or lock open once the mag is empty. I am having to rack the charging handle every single round. And yes I have used 10 different mags, put about 120 rds down range, and checked for lubrication etc.etc. still no changes.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you try changing to the other spring the Rifle ships with? Was that real Mk262 77gr 5.56mm or BH's 77 gr .223 load?

Sounds like the buffer spring is too stiff. Or its not getting enough gas.

Did you try growing a beard and yelling at it?

Does the costa edition have the adjustable gas block? If so, thats where your problem lies.

+1 check that the gas block is not switched to the "suppressed" setting.  Us a FMJ 5.56mm round or ball point pin to move the selector which is located 12 o clock near the muzzle end of the rail.

check to make sure its switched to unsupressed. Change to the white spring for a few hundred rounds to get the rifle broke in.

Towards the muzzle each side of the rail is marked either "suppressed" or "unsuppressed"

Check the gas system, then check the buffer spring.

Silver tab should be facing left like this unless you are running it with a suppressor which I am assuming you are not

Check in your box again, mine was behind the foam.

The spring comes with the swag bag. I was told by LaRue to switch to the white spring for a few hundred rounds.

With the red spring firing Black Hills 77gr OTM I was getting failures to feed. After switching to the white spring it still doesn't lock back on empty. I have 200 rounds through mine. I will give it one more range trip to clear up, and then I'm calling back.

I'm guessing the GunKote makes already tight tolerances extra tight.

Did you make an modifications to your Costa?  I changed the CH and had similar problems.

Went back to the one that came with and it now works fine.  Interestingly, I can now use any CH and it works fine with white or red spring.

I have a blue spring in it now and no problems.

Good luck.
