| I have an 18" OBR7.62 on order...I have seen pictures of various slings that are mounted either off the CTR or just behind the grip but all are also mounted off a pic rail section all the way forward (or now off the bi-pod with the new OSS)...is there a way to mount the forward point of the sling closer to the reciever? I don't see any attachment points for more rail along the rear of the hadguard like the 556OBR or the TAR....input would be greatly appreciated and sorry for being a noob. |

They have an OBR sling adapter that mounts directly to the handguard for a QD attachment. I have mine next to the receiver.
OBR Sling Adapter Edit: It mounts to the bottom of the handguard on an OBR |

pic? Does the bottom of the guard set up to receive pic rails along the entire length? I don't have pics with it or a sling attached and wouldn't be able to post them until tomorrow as the rifle is at home. I'm sure someone else here can post a picture of it. The OBR sling adapter doesn't mount to a rail it attaches directly to the handguard wherever a threaded screw insert is available. I think they are about every 3-4 inches but haven't measured. Like I said I have mine pretty close to the receiver, which is where I prefer it. If no one posts a pic today I'll try to remember to take one tonight and upload it for you in the morning. As for actually answering your question, yes you can run rail along the entire bottom of the handguard if you desire. I don't, I use the 3 inch rail sections. I have one for my bipod and another for a VFG. The sling adapter mounts directly to the handguard if you use the LaRue one, if you used a different one then you'd likely need rail. Edit: As I think about this more I think the threaded inserts are actually every 2 inches. Now I have to measure tonight |

They are only towards the front. |

If that wasn't clear my mistake. |

Agreed, thats what im buying for my OBR as i prefer to mount my slings closer to the receiver. |

yeah...that is what i started looking at based on the info earlier in the thread...wish the OBR762 handguard was a little more accomodating. It's not exactly designed to be a tactically slung, run and gun, shoot and scoot type of rifle. I like the QD cup about where the LT handguards have it, as well. |
