| I just wanted to be prepared when my mount comes in on Monday. I want to do this myself, so I was wanting to see what are some good methods for proper leveling? |

I got pretty decent results out of this method:
Tighten a magazine block into a vise, then mount your rifle (complete) onto the mag block. It helps to use a mag block that fits tightly in the mag well... Use a $5-$10 T-level from Lowe's / Home Depot, and lay it on the flat top, adjust the mag block until level front/back and side/side... Mount the scope into whatever rings or scope mount you are going to be using... Tighten the screws on the rings / scope mount down just enough to where the scope does not spin freely, but you can move it forward / back, side / side without needing a breaker bar / sledge hammer... Place the T-level on top of the elevation turret, and adjust scope until : A) It is level (DUH!) B) You have the proper eye relief. Tighten down the screws in a "star" pattern, much like lug nuts on your car tires. if you don't have a torque wrench / screwdriver, use an Allen wrench, place the long end into the screw head, hold the short end, and turn until you can't turn no more...
