Last weekend I finally ordered my Stealth upper, 16 inch barrel and 13.2 inch handguard and Troy HK style buis.  Have an UBR stock to go with it.  Since LT stopped selling the lower by itself, I went with a Mega ambi billet lower.  The questions are and this is my first AR15 all prior rifles are AK's:

1. I am leaning toward a Spike's tungsten T-2 buffer and their stainless spring.  Is this a good choice?

2. Recommended LPK

+1  The Tactical Springs buffer spring is exceptional. The LaRue buffer tube will help keep it a LaRue build.

As far as I know the receiver extension in the kit is NOT the LT branded one, it is sold separately.

Did not know that, thanks.  Out of curiosity, I checked on the LaRue website and here is what they state, "Our AR15 Mil-Spec extension kit, complete with an enhanced buffer spring, and LaRue Tactical extension tube."

I like the ArmaLite LPK.

They must have just changed this recently, as the LT tube did not use to come in the kit.  LT commented that if they were to sell their tube in the kit, the price would most likely need to be changed, but I cant remember what the price was before?  Either way, if the LT tube now comes in the kit, thats the way to go, if not, order the spring and be sure to get the LT tube separate.

I have been using the Spikes T2 Buffer in my Stealth builds and have no complaints, but I have no experience with other buffers either.

LPK's will generate as many different opinions as their are comments.  I like DD, but good luck finding one in stock.  I ordered Colts LPK for the current projects.

UBR has the tube with it right?
I have a standard carbine buffer and spring that work fine.  Doesn't stop me from being curious about how it might shoot with a fancier one.  :)

Yes that is correct. The UBR has its own buffer tube. I run a Spikes T2 with my stealth and it runs like a dream.

ENJOY!
