I picked up a new SPARC to use on my HD gun, got it to the range and zeroed pretty damned good for not having a magnifier behind it.  I used the included high mount and shim, so I have something of a lower 1/3 cowitness with my irons.

LT 660 Mounts Page

Looking at the pictures for the LT660 mounts, it APPEARS to me that the SPARC has the same footprint on the mount as the Aimpoint T/H-1 micro RDS, or are my eyes getting worse?

Basically, I like the RTZ and QD features of LT mounts, so I figured if the size is the same, I could use the LT 660 (in place of the Vortex high mount) + the shim from the SPARC kit, and then have the storage/QD/RTZ features of the LT660.  Would this work, or am I SOL until I get the scratch together for a T-1?

Now to the Surefire...

Looking at the pictures on the LT 752E page, I like the cross-compatibility between the different weaponlight models.  I found a used but very well kept older SureFire WL.  The price was right because it came with a tapeswitched endcap (no pushbutton tailcap option), and no mounting rings or hardware.  It was described as an older model (but it looks like it just came out of the box, IMHO), so I was wondering if anyone could speak to the measurements between the holes on the different WL models that the LT752E can handle.  Once the WL arrives the middle of this coming week, I can measure the distance between the holes on it, and figure out if the LT752E is the solution that I'm pretty sure it's going to be for me...

Thanks!

Can't speak to the Surefire, but the SPARC will work with the -660 series mounts... I have one on a -660HK.

Thanks, jd!  I did a little more digging on the subject, and found a thread where the VO rep for ARFCOM recommended the LT 660x and some other brand that I won't even bother with, as options for the SPARC...  Guess now I need to try and figure out if the CR 2354 batteries will fit in the bottom of the LT660...

The HK one gives you an absolute cowitness. With the small shim it is something like lower 1/4.

Thanks, I will definitely keep the HK in mind.  For the moment, I'm leaning towards the full-height, because of the battery storage option, IF it will hold the CR2354 batteries...

I saw a neat little vid on YouTube about sealing batteries into the corner of a ziplock bag, and then putting them into the hollows of the LT660...

Here we go...

Cool.  Just thought I would chime in.  Not sure how high that one will put you. For some reason I was thinking it was too high for any kind of co-witness.  No personal experience though. It is a nice optic.  I wanted something decent, but wasn't sure I was on board enough with the red dot to buy a T-1. I do like using it, and maybe one of these days I will upgrade, but for my purposes, the Sparc is perfect right now.

edit to add pic!

I have a SPARC mounted on a S&W m&p 15-22 with MBUS for back ups.

When I mounted the SPARC on the high vortex mount with spacer it gave me "lower 1/3rd cowitness" but it actually was sitting to high to use the irons correctly.  I had to take the spacer out and it is closer to a absolute cowitness but at least I can use the irons again.

Do you find this to be the case too?  Or maybe its just my 15-22

I mounted the SPARC on an M&P 15 with a Troy DA rear and Diamondhead front. High mount gave me absolute co witness.

It was a bit confusing getting it zeroed at first, I completely spaced the MOA adjustment difference between the SPARC (1 MOA / click) and my XPS (.5 MOA / click), and the adjustment directions...  But anyhoo...

Something else I goofed around with before locking it down was the mount height to make it line up with an Aimpoint 3x in my LT FTS low mount.. Had to use the tall mount and the shim to get it lined up, even though I know, the Aimpoint 3x can be adjusted to center the RDS reticle...  I bought the low mount to try shooting the XPS from the top rail, but decided I liked having the XPS and magnifier on the LT 110 better.

Thanks for the input, gentlemen, I sincerely appreciate it.

I can't really say, but I doubt if your irons are lining up any different than any other AR.  If you are using an MBUS rear, and don't need to change to a super high or low front post to zero, that seems like evidence enough that they are close enough to standard height.
I think the HK LT mount is about the same as the factory Vortex alone.  With the shim, the "lower 3rd" is pretty low.  That's why I called it lower 1/4. It was usable, but I didn't care for it at all.  It covered all but the top of the irons.  I like the absolute co-witness much better for sure.
