Hey all, I'm taking suggestions for optics on a few different rifles. Let me know what you would put on each.
1) 5.56 PredatOBR 14.5" (Go-to rifle) 2) 5.56 PredatAR 18" (Predator calling, feral hogs) 3) 7.62 PredatOBR 14.5" (Truck gun) 4) 7.62 PredatAR 16" (Hunting) 5) 7.62 OBR (Range) Any thoughts or input is appreciated. I've already purchased a T1/LT660 2moa for #1. Would you do something different? For #2, I'm interested in some sort of night vision, but I know nothing about it. I've got an ACOG sitting unused that I'll put on there until I figure out what I want. Swarovski 1-6 for #3? I'm leaning towards something with a Horus reticle like the NXS 3.5-15 for #4. Something in the 20x range for number 5, maybe? NXS 5.5-22? PMII 5-25? First world problems... |

1. T1
2. T1 plus night vision 3. T1 plus 3x Aimpoint magnifier 4. Regular 2x7, 3x9 or 4x10/12 hunting scope 5. Leupold 6x20 target scope. You have time to sight in for range distances and prepare chart for elevation changes like shooting high power silhouette. All in LaRue mounts so you can use on any of the five guns. Keep dope on the T1 and you will only need one. |

Just figured you could get more use out of the T1 .... guess my choices didn't spend enough $$$ Or Get five US Optics scopes in the magnification to fit each rifle. It's not about the amount of money spent, but I don't subscribe to swapping a single optic to multiple guns. I think you should sight the optic in, then it's ready to go. If I wanted a T1 on each of those rifles, I would work it out to where I had one on each. I work hard at keeping my guns ready to roll when I pull them off the rack. Of course I zero each gun, given the opportunity, but everything in the rack is good to go. It's hard to tell if you're mocking me, or if you really think that everything USO makes is the best option for a category. |

I would like to own a US Optics scope, but I'm on medical leave from work since Oct 17. I'm sure they would cover all possibilities but would be over kill.
Still need to get a magnifier for my M3, put a Browning 2x 8 on the 6.8 for general range, etc. My first impression was in my first post but I would definably put the new Bushnell first plane H 58 in the must have group and LT carries it (save $$$ / verse real go to hell scenario). All my AR's have Troys for rear and front sights when they don't have an F sight / gas block. Have fun deciding but first list also looked OK. |

For long range I would look at a few scopes that dont break the bank.
Between 1k and 2K look at the Vortex Razor 5-20x and the Bushnell HDMR. I ahve owned both and LOVE both. Currently own 2 Razors and 3 HDMR's I have an HDMR on my OBR Heavy as well as am planning on getting one for my Stealth. Under 1K look at the Vortex PST. Has gotten some great reviews! Over 2K look at US Optics! The make some AMAZING optics and are great to deal with. Please take it from me I have done the "scope dance" on everything from a Nightforce to a SB and have settled on what is above. I can honestly say that NightForce for the features it has has not impressed me. Now in days I need Mil/Mil and it NEEDS to be FFP. That Razor and HDMR are AMAZING for the features they both bring to the table. The HDMR is 34mm, Mil/Mil, and FFP. The Razor is a HUGE 35mm, Mil/Mil and FFP. Again this is just my two cents! Oh and for the other LT guns you are asking about the answer for all of them is the TA11: LT ACOG I'll Leave this here!

Right now, I have Aimpoints, Leupolds, Trijicons, and Nightforces. I have zero experiences with Bushnell or Vortex. I haven't purchased any magnified optics in the last two years, but Vortex seems to be getting a reputation. I had a S&B, but sold it along with my AI a couple years ago. I've never owned a USO, but had one as a loaner for a while. Seemed fine, but I'm not good enough at shooting to be able to use some of the ranging and more advanced features. Maybe some day. I like the ACOGs, but I prefer the Aimpoint in most cases for speed, and I like variable/more magnification for most stuff. A little ACOG love:
That new reticle is awesome, though. I just have the old ACOGs. |
| I own two ACOGS a TA11 and a TA31 and to tbe honest I like the TA11 better. Planing on running a H1 with the 2MOA dot on a DISSY build I got going on at the moment. But that is off the point. I tried a NF and some other optics and to be honest I got behind a few Vortex optics (PST and a Razor) and I was much happier with those. The got the job done felt great and the money saved with nice. I have delt with Vortex customer service on the phone with some minor issues and need to send some stuff in for repairs. The really took care of me and had my stuff back 5 days after I shipped it out. Great set of people there. I do have to admit I LOVE my Bushnel HDMR. Waiting till July till the new 10 mil turn one comes out for my LT Stealth build I have going on at the moment. Just waiting for the lower to get here! |

Look at the new SWFA 1x6, they have a coupon for IIRC $200.00 off right now. Just checked and it's good through 5/26, but the next one which gets the 1x6 and a 5x20 looks like they make it with 10k likes on FB. At 1 power it's a circle/ crosshair that becomes a mil-dot crosshair at 6 power. Stick it in a LT104 or LT139 and it should be 'tits'. Which mount depends on whether you shoot NTCH or not. 427 more likes on FB and you can get their 1-6x24 and 5-20x50 for $1586.93. Sorry for the disjointed post, a few to many Mount Gay Eclipse and diet Coke tonight. ETA: they got 10k likes and have a coupon for these good through 6/21, you can get their 1-6x24 and 5-20x50 for $1586.93. |
