I am going to get a suppressor for my PredatAR 5.56 and the PredatAR 7.62 that I have on order. Not so concerned about not wearing ear protection all of the time. Will still wear ear pro at the range. My 5,56 goes with me when I go to the ranch. I carry it on me when riding the ATV and checking on our sheep. Coyotes don't wait for me to put the ear protection on. The 7.62 will be used primarily as a guide gun. And, I don't wear ear protection in the field, especially on spot and stalk hunts.

Having said that, the 7.62 Mini looks like it would serve me well, for both rifles. Anyone have experienced with that particular can?

Thanks.

They also have new cans hitting the market with all new mounts.  Should work better than current can lineup and are similar in size to the mini.  It's not on their website yet, but videos are out there from the supressors are legal shoot.

I saw them all at SHOT 2012, and there are two new Suppressors in 5.56 and one new Suppressor in 7.62.

Here's the rundown:

New 5.56 Suppressors:

Model # FA556SB - Designed for 10.5" Barrels or shorter

Model # 212 Monster - Just like the FA556-212, but .3" longer with the "prongs/spikes" on the end

New 7.62 Suppressor:

Model # Mini-762 - finally a "Mini" for the 7.62 Lineup and 6.2" OAL vs. 8.4" on the FA762K

All of the Surefire Lineup gets a new Fast Attach depress lever design that's different than the current style, but I saw no real "benefit" other than it appeared to be a little bit easier for those not used the the current Surefire lever system.  Not sure when these will be released this year - still no release date from Surefire.

My 2 cents, get the "current", available Suppressors.

For 5.56:  FA556-212 (16 ounces, 6.2" OAL, & 131dB) OR the MINI (14 ounces, 5.0 OAL, & 134 dB) / Flash Hider - # FH556-212A OR Muzzle Brake - # MB556K

For 7.62: FA762K (19 ounces, 8.4" OAL, & 133dB) / Flash Hider - # FH762K or FH762K03 OR Muzzle Brake - # MB762KN-211C or MB762KN-5/8-24

Good luck!!

Thanks for the replies. I have found some 7.62 mini suppressors available on the net. I already have the Surefire  MB556K on the 5.56, and my 7.62 will have the Surefire 7.62 MB762-211C on it.
I would like to use one suppressor for both rifles. The 7.62 suppressor will fit the MB556K. Just wondering if it will suppress the sound enough on the 5.56 for field use, when I will only fire 2-3 shots at most.

It's a surefire so of course its overpriced. But at least with that price you get awesome customer service. Ask me how I know.

I wouldn't say overrated. They have stated over and over that they don't chase decibels. They want their cans to be as light as possible and easy and innovative, which for the most part they have been.

As for the handling them at Shot show, Not these cans. They were released to the general public at the SAL shoot. First time the general public saw them.

Honestly though, I would look into a Silencerco Saker. This one seems to be the next new thing.

I am first in line to get one of the new SOCOM 762-RC cans when they arrive at my dealers door. I was told end of June, but I am not holding my breath. I was told by those that seen them in action at the Dallas shoot a few weeks ago, and by SF reps, that they will be worth the wait. Good enough for me to cancel my 762k order. I am in no rush. I was told they might be a little cheaper than the K cans, too.

I held the 7.62 Mini in my hand with the New Fast Attach System ... They also had an FA556-212 with a New Fast Attach System that I held to compare it to mine ( the older style FA Ring).  Now I am excited about their .22LR Suppressor - I'll be adding this to my stable when it's available.

Not talking about those. We are talking about the SOCOM line of suppressors.
