| Is there any reason to swap out the CH on a PredaTar 5.56? |

Quoted:
for running unsupressed the gunfighter completely redsigned how the forces are distributed in the charging handle motion. It takes the stress from the roll pin. Interesting. I was unaware that the roll pin was a failure point. That is to say, I know every moving part is a failure point at some level, but I've seen more issues with bent CHs (two) than with roll pin failures (none.) I like that they are roughly 1/2-3/4 of the price of the PRI. It looks like a good alternative to the standard CH, if you don't need the functional upgrade of the PRI, at a price between the two. I do wish LT came standard with something like the BCM, and then a premium priced upgrade to the PRI. The fact remains that the standard charging handle was designed for a slingshot technique that has been much improved upon, and the part should evolve to fit the technique. |

Very much correct, and the gunfighter has adressed that in everyway. If you dont need the gas seal, the gunfighter is the precident in which charging handles are to be measured. They have a left hand model in the works as well now. |

Seeing as how the Gunfighter was revised this year to add some gas busting functionality, how does the revised Gun fighter compare to the PRI in this regard? From what I've read (have 2 new ones sitting on my doorstep right now, according to UPS, so I haven't gotten to use 'em yet (have old MOD4's on 6 other AR's)) the gas "busting" is better, possibly, than the old model, but not as good as a gasbuster. If you look closely at the new GF, the actual changes in the areas that matter are very, very small. As far as the top goes, they are actually NO higher than the old. Only main diff besides cosmetics is the tiny additional "deflectors" on the bottom. I don't think BCM was trying to build a true gasbuster CH here, I think they were trying to make the GF slightly better without compromising it in any way. YMMV - I'll report back once I've used mine. It's actually puzzling that the changes are so minor on the new ones. |

It looks the the top is higher, or at least the new shoulder added to the top. Not sure if it actually makes a noticeable difference though. http://www.recoilweb.com/new-bravo-company-gunfighter-charging-handle-comparison-7479.html Nope - it's an illsuion - I'm looking at mine now. They dropped the sides down, which make the center portion look taller - it ain't. |
