| I can't decide which one to get. Is there any downside to getting the PredatOBR over the OBR? I am going to buy the 7.62 version of one of them. My club's range only goes to 300 yards and I plan on getting an 18" barrel. I will be able to shoot out a little further from time to time. |

PredatOBR does not. Thats probably the main difference besides weight. Get both. If you cant, flip a coin? Both are great rifles... |

Its like asking what is better Blonds or Brunets? I like blonds myself! |

I had the same question mulling around in my head for the last 3 months as well, he is how/why I ended up going with the OBR 7.62:
- OBR 7.62 looks better than PredatOBR 7.62 (just my opinion not a hard fact, I like the PredatOBR 5.56 better than the OBR lite) - OBR has 20 MOA rail (if you want 0 MOA, buy 20 MOA mount and put in on backwards) - PredatOBR has 0 MOA rail (if you want 20 MOA, buy 20 MOA mount) - OBR rail might require RISR or other device/stock to ensure consistent cheek weld (I have heard no complaints about the RISR, and the PRS looks quite balanced on the 18" and 20" IMO) - OBR is about 1lb heavier (not really an issue to me; after adding glass, mag, bipod, and other accessories you are looking at maybe 7-8% of total weight - that might matter to some of the HSLD guys, but I am not, ever been, or aspiring to be that squared away) - PredatOBR is available in 14.5" and might have advantages in the 16" over OBR if you are going to use it as more of a Battle Rifle in place of an 5.56 weapon. Here is what I ended up ordering 2 weeks ago: OBR 7.62 18" CTR w/ RISR PredatOBR 5.56 14.5" Pinned Surefire Brake Just doing my part to help Mark pay his electric bills... Good luck and in the end we all know there really isn't a bad choice to be made between the two. |

I really only plan to shoot it for groups mainly at 100 to 300 yards using a bipod. There is a 1000 yard range about an hour and a half away I might have to venture out there. Just my opinion, but given your range, I would totally get the shortest and lightest variant available. No reason not to. The most logical choice. |
