Just received my new PredatAR over the weekend. I had a few questions.  This may sound like a stupid question but is there a break-in period for this rifle?  If there is, could you share any tips?
PS This is my first AR.

No break-in required, just shoot and have fun.

Everyone has their own opinion on this topic. I say just give it a good cleaning after your first range trip and all should be well.

Only suggestion I can make it to try out different ammo. Some guns can be finicky with different brands of ammo.  Good luck and have fun.

Lol... I think you'll be hardpressed to find anything that the OBR series or PredatAR series won't eat.

Thank you guys...  good info.  Looking forward to my first day at the range in the coming weeks.

As far as how I came to the decision to the LaRue, it has been a combination of reviews on this forum and talking to a few friends....  Plus being from Texas I wanted to help the local economy

As far as ammo I went with this Site based on some feedback from a friend.
It should be here in the next day or so.

now I am after a good cleaning kit... more homework :)

For a cleaning kit, may I suggest an OTIS.  It is stupid simple and will work just fine.  Buy a box of Q-Tips for cleaning in around the chamber...  Your bolt carrier and bolt should be easy to clean as it is chrome... rags will wipe it all off just fine.

For my rifles, I have learned a few things:

1.  There was no break in period for the rifles.  They were dead on from day one.

2.  I do not clean the barrels on my rifles save for running a dry patch down them while they are still warm.  I have put thousands of rounds through them with no problems.  Once the trajectories change, then I'll scrub them down.

3.  Use quality ammunition.  You will see better results in your shooting.  My LaRues have never tasted Russian crap, and never will.  I shoot mainly XM193 or Hornady 75gr BTHP through the little ones and 168 gr FGMM through big brother.

Welcome aboard.  Feel free to ask any questions.  The only stupid questions are those you don't ask.
