So it's crazy busy again?
I might wait until early afternoon - maybe the crowds will have died down some. |

That was fun! I even got to hold the full auto sbr, but sadly did not get to shoot it :(
Thanks to Larue and everyone else who showed up. |

Had a great time. Got way more than I paid for. Thanks to all the staff and vendors. I met a few of you arfcommers today too. I won't be at the dahlia though- heading to Dallas already.

Great Day, Good People, Good Weather , Good Food, Great GUNs and vendors equipment!!!
LaRue staff did a great job taking care of everyone. Finally got to take a few long range shots, I see now the love you can for it. |

Meeting Costa, free 20LR Pmags, hints on new Magpul stuff, good chow. That was a fun day. Great job LaRue!
I had a tan shirt with realtree camo shoulder pad and lower part of sleeves. |

It was awesome, can't wait for next year's! Was able to get a bag, some swag and won a scope! Thank you everyone @ LaRue and hope to see you next year!

Had a great time today. Got to meet the mysterious mfingar, had the wife shoot her first AR's, met Costa, got some cool swag and met some awesome people. I must say that for the amount of people who were supposed to have been there, appx. 4,000, the place seemed to be left very clean and everyone was working together getting out of there and not making it a massive traffic jam. Looking forward to next year, if I'm not deployed...

Had a great time. Met some cool people and shot some fantastic rifles. I will definitely keep going back every year. Glen, if you happen to stumble upon this post its David one of the two dudes from SA.

Tired, dusty, dirty, and a little sore from standing in lines all day....but I came home with the biggest grin on my face. Had SO much fun. Got to shoot some cool guns, had a PMAG tossed at me by a guy in a golf cart for the 2nd year in a row (and who can't use more mags?), free BBQ, finally got my hands on some of the elusive Dillo Dust, got a new addition to my dillo collection, and unexpectedly ended up with Chris Costa RO'ing me on my last stage of the day (I didn't even know he was gonna be there!) Sure am glad I stopped by the ballistic gelatin demo, too. That was really informative as I'd never seen gelatin shot in person. And the night vision trailer was cool - amazing how much you can see in a pitch black environment with a good NVD. Thanks LaRue and crew for putting this on. If there's a Range Day III next year, I hope to be there. |

Towards the end of the day, behind the ammo truck where they were shooting ballistics gel, there was an SBR lying on the table. I walked up to it and thought "Hey, that's a nifty little HOLY SHIT IT HAS A THIRD HOLE" Sure enough, the selector went to position three... I thought it was cosmetic. The LaRue guys let me fondle it and take some pics. I had a major geek attack, I must have looked like a total dweeb holding that thing. Never even thought to ask if I could shoot it, but I sort of assumed the answer was no. They day was almost over and it needed a thorough cleaning (it was so dirty, the bolt catch didn't work). |

Was the first person of the day to hit at 1000 yard :-) I couldn't believe how effective a suppressor is at recoil reduction. Was seeing my own hits at 500, 750 and 1000 yards. Horus scopes have got to be the way to go for long range. :-)
Plus I won a CTR in the raffle. When can I buy wristbands for next year!?! :-) Damn I'm tired. |

All in all a good time, even though we didn't get to hit all the stages. The staff and RO's were great, as was the food. Thanks to LT for putting it on, and the entire team that pulled it off. And thanks to all the other industry sponsors/participants.
The sound system was challenged by the windy conditions, as well as the ranges not going cold during the drawings. Maybe calling out the numbers over radio to the stages, rather than brining people in would speed things up? Just a thought. A listing of what systems were at each stage would have been helpful, at least for someone who wanted to shoot specific things to make a buying decision (like I was). I was able to shoot the systems I wanted to, but one was pretty rushed, trying to get done before the last drawing and when the tent closed up to get in my order. Still not feeling 100% on the choice, and I'm sure I left stuff off the order form (although I was told I will be able to take care of this when I get a call to confirm the order) Definitely learned a few things for the next time I attend. |

I asked her about it and she said every time she saw the magpul guys they handed her a Pmag. I got two myself and one 7.62 for my new OBR I ordered. I also got 3 Dillo Dust, a LaRue hat and a Shirt! |

Mark and all, thanks for putting up a great event. A buddy and I drove down from Oklahoma and we had a great time. I attended last year's and this one was better.
Quick rundown in no particular order -THE PREDATAR 5.56 IS MY FAVORITE!!! -The two lines were a bit confusing -The vendor tent was smaller than last year's but in a much better location -Please bring more t-shirts to buy, especially pink (my wife is a size small but y'all ran out FAST) -THE PREDATAR 5.56 IS MY FAVORITE!!!! -The stages were AWESOME! (We shot the Top Shot stage and the 3-gun stage; they're excellent ways to get the lines moving) -I suck at magnified optics. First time ever shooting one was at the Top Shot stage and using them for CQB was even weirder -The winner of the Top Shot OBR was running at LIGHT SPEED!!! -THE PREDATAR 5.56 IS MY FAVORITE!!!! -The TG1 Tactical Sniper Targets on the Long Range were AWESOME!!! -The brisket is excellent! -Never shot past 500 yards before. I need to work on that too. The coaches were great though! -THE PREDATAR 5.56 IS MY FAVORITE!!!! -All that wind and dust/sand and I didn't notice any malfunctions. So much for the AR platform and Direct Impingement being unreliable! -The range officers were great! -Thanks to the ladies driving around keeping everyone hydrated! -THE PREDATAR 5.56 IS MY FAVORITE!!!! -That 13 year old is one lucky son of a gun -Maybe make the preorder dillos a different color from those that pay at the door -The 10 or 11 year old boy running the pistol at the 3-gun stage was a sight to see -THE PREDATAR 5.56 IS MY FAVORITE!!!! Final thought: Making it a paid entry event was fine by me. All in all I paid $140 in my prepaid shooter's band package, gas, food and campsite fees for a dillo, 5 chances to win stuff, shot some cool weapons in cool stages, bought 2 tshirts, got 1 bottle of dillo dust, donated a couple bucks for a free tshirt, handled products that my local gun shop doesn't carry, got some nifty stickers and catalogs, met great people and generally had a blast! I do have a couple questions: What iron sights were on the PredatAR 5.56 at the 3-gun stage? Does the range day 15% discount apply to rifles or stealth uppers as well? Would you offer up the rifles used at range day up for sale? |

I had a great time despite the wind and the dust.
I never shot. I waited for over an hour in line twice, only to have the raffle start and decide that was more important than shooting. I had plenty of opportunity to shoot if I wanted. I spent a lot of time in the vendor tent ogling the optics. I am sure that is going to hurt my pocket book eventually. I got to talk to Mark, Even got to ask Mark if a Larue 1911 was in the future. He should run for office. He does a much better job of changing the subject than Rick Perry. I got to talk to Costa and look how his rifle was set up. All in all it was a good day. |

The best weapon for killing would be a knife, but I'm afraid we can't do it that way. The worst is an airplane. The next worst is artillery. Barring a knife, the best is a rifle — you know who you're killing. Lt Colonel John Paul Vann

Sorry I missed it. Had the (last minute) opportunity to take the kiddos camping and figured outdoor time with the family and sleeping on the ground was more important than shopping for man-toys.
Sounds like (once again) a good time was had by all. Great to hear. I look forward to next year. -Tx |
