He's an extremely nice guy, had some good jokes, and took some of the crap people were saying without skipping a beat. I can totally understand why some people have a man-crush on him. I personally don't, although I do think he's a good guy and a great shooter. I did get pics with him though.  DirectAction, is there an easy way to pick out the ARFCOM staffers at events like this? I would've loved to meet you guys but have no idea how to pick you out of the crowd! |

I was watching Chris Costa interact with quite a few people, and I was impressed how friendly he stayed the entire time. It would be natural to assume that he'd get annoyed after hours and hours of repetitive questions and people asking him to take pics, but that never happened as far as I could tell. |

. Thanks to Mark LaRue and Mark Fingar and the whole LaRue crew behind the scene's for putting on what I believe is the best event like this in the world. I have done over 200 diffrent trade shows/events to include SHOT and all the major LEO/EMS/Mil shows and have never had this responce. Your hospitality is second to none. It was nice to meet a bunch of folks off of here. I was the one driving around with TOM the Trauma man with the Tac Med t-shirt on doing the teaching on the TQ and pressure dressing . I have never talked so much in my life my voice was gone within 4 hours.I also wasn't expecting to incite a riot throwing out the training trauma dressings from the podium. Next year maybe I will bring a shirt launcher to send them out they are really light. Thank you Charley Combs LEO/EMS Liason Tactical Medical Solutions |

If he got one of the flyers it has my email on it if he has any questions have him email me . Have him check out the site for the training videos. I know three vendors are working up plans for next year already. I can't thanks the LaRue folks enough, I spoke with a few other folks who exbited and we are still overwhelemed with the responce. |

ML With a good spotter even a medicore shooter can hit at 1k.  A good rifle doesn't hurt either........

Googled around to see what the non-ARFcom thoughts are ... found another " LaRue Range Day Sucked " threads.
Though one of 'em said that he got $20 worth of P-mags ... It costs a hundred bucks to take a couple kids to a minor league baseball game ... a decent steak is $30 (which hits the commode the next morning) ... a 24 pack of beer is, fluck it, nevermind.
If anybody knows who they are, let me know so I can refund their precious $30. ETA - Do you know how much it costs to retask a satellite ? So ... we cooked 120 briskets (took days), brought 1,800 sausages, we went through 6,000 brisket and/or sausage wraps at a burn rate of 840 per hour, God knows how many waters and cokes and not to forget the ice truck, 40,000 rounds or so of ammo, time and a half for a bunch of LaRue employees, extra event insurance costs, money to the Range, a big donation to the RO's club, turned 40 brand new LaRue rifles into 40 used rifles, gave away three (3) rifles (including one used on TopShot), made custom targets, flew folks in (some might have seen Todd Hodnett hanging around), etc., etc., etc. and just late today got it all policed-up and back in the barn. $3,000 bucks in miscellaneous restaurant costs, a mess of hotel rooms for the folks we flew in, along with their plane fare. No, nuttin' to it. Oh, did I say we ain't in the event or restaurant business, we just winged it. |

That was Techline Trauma's stuff. And yes it is the best stuff out there. Dave brought that down our orginal plan was to run a trauma lane next to the ATK trailer. However due to the wind gusts and gear being blown around we relocated into the vendor tent during set up..Mid-Afternoon after the window died down we decided to do mobile class in trauma dressing and TQ application. This so folks wouldn't miss out on shooting. |

Mark To hell with the complainer's, those that complain are idiots they have no clue how much time and effort was put into this. Name one other company that puts something like this on. You had no control over the weather 12 hours before at setup it was calm barely any wind. Besides buying a OBR where else are you going to get a chance to shoot the world’s finest Sniper rifle. All of the mil guy’s I spoke with had a blast. My fiancé took leave to come hang out and take pictures she had a blast. If you can’t say something nice don’t say nothing at all. |

+1 to this, i had a awesome time what little i got to stay there, the hotel i booked ended up being not within walking distance to shopping to the GF had to stay at the hotel all by herself while i was off having fun since we only had one vehicle. Even though i left at 12:30 i still had a blast and it was more than worth the measly little "entry fee" i had to pay this year. My only suggestion is to bring back the merchandise tent like it was last year. This not only helped cut down the lines for shooting but it is WAY more gratifying to walk away with products you have bought rather than knowing you will get a phone call in the next week or two and then having to wait a few more days after that. I had come with cash in hand and all i could spend it on was a shirt and hat (which were a awesome design BTW.) As someone said in another thread, bring a semi or two worth of stuff and you will have an empty semi or two leaving at the end of the day.

Googled around to see what the non-ARFcom thoughts are ... found another " LaRue Range Day Sucked " threads. Though one of 'em said that he got $20 worth of P-mags ... It costs a hundred bucks to take a couple kids to a minor league baseball game ... a decent steak is $30 (which hits the commode the next morning) ... a 24 pack of beer is, fluck it, nevermind.
If anybody knows who they are, let me know so I can refund their precious $30. ETA - Do you know how much it costs to retask a satellite ? So ... we cooked 120 briskets (took days), brought 1,800 sausages, we went through 6,000 brisket and/or sausage wraps at a burn rate of 840 per hour, God knows how many waters and cokes and not to forget the ice truck, 40,000 rounds or so of ammo, time and a half for a bunch of LaRue employees, extra event insurance costs, money to the Range, a big donation to the RO's club, turned 40 brand new LaRue rifles into 40 used rifles, gave away three (3) rifles (including one used on TopShot), made custom targets, flew folks in (some might have seen Todd Hodnett hanging around), etc., etc., etc. and just late today got it all policed-up and back in the barn. $3,000 bucks in miscellaneous restaurant costs, a mess of hotel rooms for the folks we flew in, along with their plane fare. No, nuttin' to it. Oh, did I say we ain't in the event or restaurant business, we just winged it. Haters make you famous. Pay them no mind Mark. We have never met in person but I am a cnc machinist/programmer for the past 16 years or so. I feel your frustrations in dealing with people lol. For some reason in this industry we really get some weird ones. Your commitment to quality and precision show in all your events. Those of us who know what it takes to do what you do APPRECIATE YOU AND YOUR STAFF. We had some fine people out at that event and anyone who complains should just stay home next year! The rest of us will be there with bells on. Thanks again for creating such a fun,friendly event. |

I wouldn't say it sucked....far from it; but I have some suggestions. 86 the helos. Yes they look cool and make noise, but they ate up what seemed like an eternity of what could have been time spent shooting. The DPS demo wasn't impressive for anyone in the back and the film crew getting footage of The Art of Dynamic Standing In Line probably got a lot of frustrated faces on film. Next, the PA/raffle setup. I suggest either satellite speakers for the PA or one big raffle giveaway to cut down on cold range time. Lastly, a little more trigger time would have been nice. It felt like an amusement park: 1.5 hrs in line for a 45 second ride. I'd gladly pay more for more hours on the clock and more rounds in the mag. Getting to personally handle hardware that is in development or on the shopping list was really great, the food was delicious, and the staff was awesome. I understand this was a massive undertaking for the crew, but the changes could only make things better, especially for those willing to pony up the cash to help it come to light. |

I thought it was EXCELLENT and plan to return next year as do my brother and dad who also had a great time. I mean for 40 bucks I got free PMAG from the MAGPUL folks, got to shoot enough 7.62 and 5.56 (and a little bit of 9mm and 12 gauge lol) to feel satisifed about the trip not to mention lots of Dillos, and got to get my hands on lots of really cool shit that I normally never get to see or touch past an internet window.
Great job guys and I tried to make sure I thanked every one that was working the stages :) |

| I had a phenomenal time! I have put on several events (not near to that scale) that weren't nearly as well executed as that one. For the complainers, did you notice the trash cans were not overflowing and the staff was always accomadating and helpful? I had a great time all day and only shot once! Thanks again to the entire team. |

People go to Disney all the time and LOOK FORWARD to it, knowing that they'll spend a decent amount of time in a line waiting to get on a ride and they spend a TON more for admission. I'm ready for next year, I had a great time and got to do some "product research" for the VERY near future.

I tried getting some shots at the 750 yard targets.
Unfortunately, they would not stay up. As soon as they got near to being reset, the wind had them down again. I watched through several cycles, and saw no new hits. This was early, just after opening while there were few hits on the white targets. Did they start behaving later? |
