I have a LT 649 QD for my Aimpoint 3x magnifier.  When I originally set it up, it opened to the left side of my rifle. I decided to remove it and swap directions so it would open to the right side (ejection port side)  I could not break the bolts loose myself to make the change so since I was going to the range today and they have a gun smith on site I took it to him and he made the switch.

My problem is now the optic is loose at the pivot shaft.  It doesn't "feel" any different when I pull back on the optic to lay it over, but when I pivot it back in alignment with my red dot it's loose.  Actually it's loose in either position.

I can't see where there has been any work done in the shaft area.  No tool marks etc.  Before the change was made it was rock solid.

Any suggestions or solutions?

Where is it loose?  The tube or the mount?

Kujoe,

The mount on the pivot shaft.  It's like there isn't enough spring pressure to lock the ears attached to the shaft into their recesses.

I'd take a photo but my camera is at work.

So, the problem is within the pivot shaft itself... not the mount base, and not the mount in which the optic is placed?

If that is the case, you need to call the shop.  There's a good chance that you need to have the mount replaced.
