I have gotten everything squared away and am eagerly awaiting a 7.62 PredatAR with a surefire brake!
I called LaRue yesterday to ask about pre ordering a PredatAR. They told me I can get on the list if I get them a copy of an FFL. I have never bought a firearm from an out of state vendor but I understand I need to do the transfer through an FFL. I call a local FFL and they tell me that I should order it through LaRue first then get some sort of order number that they can reference when they send the FFL. Can someone explain to me the proper order of operations before I make any more phone calls? Thanks. |

U do not need a order number for your FFL to send a copy of their FFL paperwork to the folks down in Leander .....Personally they should be more than happy to send a copy...but that's just my FFL'S I guess...
Your information on the copy of the FFL should suffice... |

Did you tell the FFL that it was a preorder and you only need the FFL to hold your place in line?
They are expecting to send the FFL, then Larue wonder what the hell it's for. By putting an order number on it, they can match it up and make sure Larue ships the correct gun to the correct FFL. Then, when they receive your gun, it will again have your name and order number, so they know who it goes to. This prevents a random gun from showing up at the FFL for transfer without them knowing who it's for. Since your gun is not ready to ship yet, they don't have to worry about the order number and a random gun showing up in 3 days. Just tell them to fax the FFL with your name and phone number on it. |
