Need some help guys.

I have a Burris Fullfield TAC30 on the way from Midway.  I have a flat top AR with Magpul Back Up Iron Sight.

I would like to keep the back up sights on the gun.  Which mount do I need?

Will the LT 104 clear the rear buis?  Should I get the LT 139 and just move it forward a bit?

Thank you in advance, this is my first LT mount purchase (have some other goodies though)

I also ordered some Butler Creek covers if that makes a difference in the clearance room.

Thanks.

With an LT104, you'll have plenty of clearance.

Glad I placed my order yesterday for the TAC30.  They are now back ordered at Miday.

mfingar,

If I shoot NTCH, is the LT-104 still the right choice?

Hi Mark,

Not trying to be a wise guy as I am sure you know better than I do, but I seem to remember when I order the LT-104 that the LaRue rep on the other end mentioned that it will clear my TROY BUIS but not if it was a MAGPUL BUIS – is that correct?  I know the Butler Creek covers reduced the clearance.

Sorry, I had a lapse in reading comprehension, and didn't read Magpul...I'm not sure if it'll fit afterall.
Then again, I don't have a MBUS to measure.

I'm pretty sure you'll need the LT135 (SPR 1.93), if you want to keep that rear sight.

Thank you Sir.  Now I have some pondering to do.

Anyone out there with an MBUS and a Burris TAC30 and an LT mount?

Guess I can always ditch the BUIS.

There is still a chance that it may work as I cannot be 100% sure of what I quoted to Mark since it was over a year ago the conversation took place.  The unfortunate thing is MAGPUL does not give any actual stats on their BUIS, just general statements in their “SPEC” page.  There are unfortunately so many possible combinations possible out there since you are talking about three items (BUIS, mount, and scope) that it is almost impossible to know unless someone has that exact combo.  I will be willing to measure the TROY BUIS, but unfortunately I no longer have the LT-104 since I traded it for a LT-158, and of course I don’t have a TAC30.

I realize it is a long shot, but somebody out there might have the set up.

I also have a RISR installed. not sure if that will matter on mount selection either.

Guess I will order the 104, and see if it works.  I can always ditch the BUIS or upgrade.

It’s a reasonable way to go, might want to post the same request on the OPTICs page.  As for the RISR, I don’t have that, but my understanding is that it has more to do with cheek weld and the charging handle and I don’t see how that would affect the fit between the BUIS/LT-104/TAC30.

Was not thinking the RISR would interfere with the BUIS/Mount/Optic, but was not sure if having the RISR would necessitate a higher mount.

If it is not glaringly obvious, this is my first magnified optic, and I appreciate all the knowledge provided by folks on this site, like jlow and all the other great folks here.

After searching the Optics section, found this image

For those interested, this barely clears an MBUS with flip up caps in an SPR-E. You actually have to grab the cover and tug to get it to open.

Think I will try the SPR-E, and if nothing else pull the BUIS.

OK.  Have you seen the other thread here on the RISR?  It seems that it is too high for a regular M4 which I think is what you have with a regular flat top.  My guess is that it might be too high for an optic too but not sure.  Works for the OBR because I think their rail is higher?

Using the RISR and the BUIS is tough, really have to get down on the stock.  Worked great with my Primary Arms M3 clone.
