I am working on handloads for my 20" OBR and I was wondering if any one else has worked up any loads. Yes I know handloading is dangerous and loads should be worked up to. I'm not looking for a ready to go load just some ideas where I might get some ideas. I am looking to use a heavier grain bullet 170 plus.  I thought that I saw a similar thread a while back but I couldn't find it.  If anyone has a link to the above thread it would be great.

I am shooting 43gr of RE15, Sierra 175 Match King, Lapua Brass, FGM 210 primers.  5 shot groups at 100y average between .4 and .6 MOA and the same at 300y.  I was able to shoot a .2xx  (can’t remember the last 2 numbers) 3 shot group at 300y so I know the rifle can do better than my averages, it’s just the dummy behind the rifle.  I have an 18” OBR.  This load choreographed at an average of 2510 placed 12 feet from the muzzle.

I am still using cheap Federal 150 jacketed with my OBR and doing quite decent........seems like most folks
are using the 175 gr...... so I'll get around to Loading soon and get those heavier bullets.

Just a quick question are you using  'small base dies" for your reloading and if so what brand and
how about a good seater die...........anything special there. If I have to get out and buy this
stuff I might as well get the good stuff........after all the OBR deserves the best.

I would appreciate your thougths......thanks

I have found that Redding dies are the best made for my use.  First try a normal set, then if you need a small base sizing die, you can add it to your die inventory.

It's been a few months since I loaded for it, but I'm pretty sure my load for my 16" is 175 smk over 42.2 H4895 in RP cases with CCI br primers. Made consistent hits at 1000 and hit a bunch at 1150.
