First, a bit about myself.  I'm not sure about the first time I heard of LaRue, but I'm pretty sure it was on this site.  After Obama was elected, I started looking into purchasing an AR-308.  I bought a DPMS receiver with the intention of letting GA Precision put the rest together for me.  It seemed they were the best bank for the buck AR-308 at the time.  The only problem was the year-long wait.  While I was waiting, I continued my research (as all good gunaholics would) and I stumbled across the OBR (OSR at the time) pre-order information.  I decided that if it was going to be everything Mark and crew was promising, it'd be a steal at $2500.  That was Sep '09.  I actually didn't get my first LaRue product until Mark kindly exchanged my A.R.M.S. #17 mount for one of his after I broke it with a hammer.

I finally got my OBR 7.62 earlier this month.  I was so impressed with the quality, that I immediately bought the OBR 5.56.  I received that last week.  On Thurs the 26th, I was finally able to take them to the range.  Here are some pics:

My OBRs with my GAP AR-308.

18" OBR 7.62 with a Nightforce 2.5-10x32 and a Aimpoint H-1 in a LaRue offset mount. This setup rocks!

OBR 5.56 with an Aimpoint T-1 in a LaRue Absolute co-witness mount and Troy BUIS.

Me rocking my 7.62 from my tripod. How cool is that?!

It took me three rounds to get on target using M118LR at 100 yards. Once I was snapped in, I shot this 5-shot group. I didn't measure it, but I'd guess it was 5/8" or so.

A 1" square pasty easily covered the group.

Oh...and I almost forgot...I had a little help from this guy. It turns out that he's a great spotter.

And while we were at it, I got to put a few rounds through the August Calendar Rifle. It's sporting a Gemtech Sandstorm. I am very impressed with that can. I'll be very happy when I take possession of the one I have on order.

Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable days of shooting I've ever had (and I've had a few).  MFingar is a top-notch, down to earth guy.  Thanks for taking the time to support, Mark!

I know I sound like all the other LaRue groupies on this site , but LaRue products are truly top quality pieces of kit.  I still have a few more items to add to my collection.  Thank you to all at LaRue Tactical for doing it right.  This jarhead is a very happy customer.

All I did was line up the crosshairs and apply a slow, steady squeeze.  Credit goes to the rifle.

Nice rifles and it looked like a nice day on the range.

I had to slosh through the water and mud today at a 2-gun match, messy but so much fun.

The tan one is a Maxpedition, and the green one is this: http://www.cheaperthandirt.net/MOLLE200-7.html.  It's a great bag for $50.  Of course, now that I have my OBR 5.56, I need to get a covert case.  Back to saving money for more LaRue stuff.
