| I am a few weeks away from having enough saved up to buy the Stealth 18 inch with the 13.2 inch Handguard. I was wondering what the the opinion of the hive here would be in reference to optics for my new little friend. The longest range I have access to is 300 meters. Just wanted to put this out there and see what ya all had to say. No budget really in mind. Thanks in advance. |

Depends on the use you are planning. I assume since you went with the 18 your looking for more of a long range accuracy type rig, and that you want to punch "one hole" at the 300 you have available.
I would probably go with Nightforce 3.5-15x50mm Mil Dot or the Trijicon 3-9 accupoint as they can both handle some shorter intermediate ranges as well as being very well suited to the longer range 300+ you are wanting to shoot at. YMMV, just my .02 |

The shortest would be 50 yrds. Anything below that I have a Aimpoint that I have setup for 25 yards. Quoted: You haven't given us enough info. All you tell us is that 300yds is your longest range. What's the shortest range you'll be shooting at? That's just as important as the longest. |

What I was getting at is do you need to handle up close and personal shots and longer shots with the same optic, in which case I would do a 1-4x optic. Are you going to be shooting groups off the bench and/or prone? If so, more magnification is warranted. If you can afford it, it's gonna be very tough to beat a Nightforce. |

Yeah, I'd get either the 1-4 Accupoint in the german crosshair, or a Nightforce 1-4 with the NP-2 or Velocity reticle. |

Don't have a stealth yet, but I do plan on getting one as soon as possible... 18" Barrel with 13.5" Rail... Optics wise I will use a pretty good sized NightForce in a LT mount... I also plan to add one of the little red Dots, like a Doc Optics or something off to the side, set for somewhere between 25-50 yards, not really sure... I just hope it comes out as sweet as the one Kujoe let me shoot.... Was a thing of Magic... <drool> |
