I've never ordered from LaRue and I'm about to order a Significant number of items. (an entire rifle with several of the extras, trigger, mags, QD scope mount, stock, etc). I've heard everyone talk about the infamous Dillows, Dillo Dust, hats, t-shirts, etc. that often accompany a LaRue order. My question is what is the best strategy for maximizing the 'stuff' I would get. I'd hate to drop over $2 grand in a single order and only end up with one Dillo, or break it into 4 orders and not get a hat.
Should I order EVERYTHING at once, or break the order up into 2 or 3 seperate orders? Can I request certain items (I don't want to be rude). Need a little guidance from you LaRue addicts...... |

OP, you sound like some welfare leech trying to maximize the amount of free money they get by popping out more kids.
had you placed your order, became a team member, and posted pics of your purchase, many of us (myself included) would have supplemented your swag with whatever you may not have received. now, i doubt anyone would give you a damn thing. |

TOO LATE! "I'm gonna spend about $2000 with a company known for supply swag with their sales. Help me place it in such a fashion so I can f*ck them out of the most stuff possible. " i GOT NEWS FOR YA, $2k AIN'T SHIT COMPARED TO WHAT LOTS OF GUYS DROP INTO THE COFFERS EACH YEAR AND DON'T EXPECT TO PAN HANDLE THE SYSTEM. You've already heard it; if you had asked nicely, pulled your own weight by becoming TEAM member, you would have had more stuff than you could shake your greedy littlke weenie at. And it would have only taken a few minutes for you to peruse the site as well to figure this out. Now we all know you for the (fill in your own adjective, adverb, and noun) you've proven yourself to be. BTW, they sell those (sic) 'dillows' on line as well as the hats, the ones they give away to deserving and (sometimes) not-so deserving customers. |

What do you think a self-respecting, honest gentleman would do? Also, if you forked up $26 for membership fee on the site, people here would give you swag for free if you asked nicely. God knows we've got the "ammo". Holy Crap look at all that Dillo Dust. MMMMMMMMMMM Clearly you are not addicted to it as I am. I'm down to only enough to go on two or three steaks. I have just spent time on Larues web site trying to find something I needed to order just to get more Dillo Dust. Please don't ever post that pic again. I can't take it. |

I've got two open bottles in the kitchen (one for each hand, you know...maximizes and quickens the application), and another that I just got with an aimpoint/mount combo a couple days ago. So that makes what...10? I've seen more, but I'm proud of my Dust stash. |

subtle my ass! Personally, I'm hormonal and and I am sick of this entitlement attitude bullshit we folks as a Nation (under Obama) have slipped into! You know the OP may be a really nice guy with decent morals most of the time. HE may have been indoctrinated into believing this crap that folks are entitled to things they did not work for and was just raised that way. Every socialist /communist country /regime works by slowly infiltrating and indoctrinatiing its citizens into believing that crap, until they are no longer citizens, but devoted servants to the system. The OP may be a victim of our Society - who knows; but he should know better, regardless. We need to get off our asses and bring this Country back to what made it this COUNTRY. NO EXCEPTIONS ! NO EXCUSES!! |

Wow! Sure didn't mean to cause that firestorm or where to start to reply. I must admit that I'm still laughing at the concept of me being a freeloader, more on that in a minute...
My appoligies to those that were offended or that took this the wrong way. In the very limited time I've had to read the board and research technical info, I've rarely read one of the 'swag' or 'dillo' threads but have seen that it is a common topic. I thought my original post would spur some interesting conversation. I can assure you I'm not out to gouge LaRue, or start stockpiling dillos. It sounds like they take care of you regardless. I do regret the misspelling of dillo, that is inexcusable. I'll be happy to 'offically' join the board and will do it today. I've certainly gotten more than $26 worth of advice here. I guess I had the option when I originally signed up but I don't recall it. When I started my research I was going to get a RRA. Thanks to everyones help here that rifle became a LaRue. I'm sure I'll be much happier with that purchase. Thanks again to those on this site that have helped. Mr. FiftyCalAL and others, I'm sure we are very like minded politically. I'm pretty sure we'll never get the chance to meet so I'll offer up the following as evidence that I'm not a lifelong hand-out/welfare/free stuff feeder. If you care, great; if not, oh well. Family refused government free lunches in school when I was growing up based on principal Paid my own way through engineering degree and masters engineering degree I have had to buy all of my cars (daddy never gave me one....) Raising a family with a wife and 3 young kids with zero help from anyone Well over 1/3 of my $ goes to God and Country. The first one, I could never pay enough for what I get. The second one, well, I love my country but I'm not real happy with the return-on-investment with many of the social programs. I won't go into the rest since politics probably don't belong on the message board here and nobody cares about my personal life. I look forward to being a LaRue owner and will post a picture of the new rifle when it comes. I hope yeveryone will continue to give me good advice when needed, or you can vote me off of LaRue Island. Either way, thanks for the help to date..... |

never thought of it that way... that's some funny shit. oh, just place the order, you'll be fine. be sure to get linked up with the LaRue emails too. (not going to post a link, gona make you work for this one. work brings freedom... err... votes or not votes... wait, how does this vote people off thing work?) |

I agree with the above comments. 2k from larue isn't much. I have close to 3k in my stealth before scope. Everything from larue was one order but due to processing of the lower, building of the upper, and the stuff all ready to ship on the shelf, I received three differed packages all with swag and for a single shipping charge. Just saying. Its bad when someone wants to maximize a gift from someone who gives so much already. My luck was simiply logistics and not premeditated greediness.
BTW. What are you planning on ordering. Nobody has asked yet. |

lets just say... i'm pretty sure this thread prompted TheRex to get this contest in GD going. I think our original poster should enter... if you feel he's learned his lessons... you should enter and if you win let him become a team member.

Well first let me say you are making the right choice buying LaRue. They are a top notch company with top notch gear. $2000 is alot of money to spend on a company when you are considering building your first rifle, and to do so based on recommendations and word of mouth speaks highly of the company making the product and the people who own them and recommend them. That said $2000 isn't really a large chunk of change when you get the best gear out there, and I am 100% certain that once you get that first order you will spend even more with LaRue. Hell my first order was for a canteliver aimpoint mount. This grew to a flip to the side magnifier mount, 2x aimpoint M4 mounts, SPRE mount, to stealth uppers, FUGS....you get the idea.
I see where your coming from, but trust me once you get LaRue gear the first time you will order again, and again. Thats how you get more swag. Though if your like me you share the wealth and donate or share your swag with others. Just place your order, you won't be disappointed and you will be back. |

meh, it's like when when your dog pees on the floor, ya gotta yell at him a bit... doesn't mean you don't still like them. hell dosen't even mean it was all his fault maybe you left the dog at home a bit to long. ya still gotta say, hey, bad! don't do that! then you walk them and give em a treat and a pat on the head when they piss in the right place...
OP i don't think anyone here is gonna take you to the pound or kick you off LaRue island or anything. sides that ya did a pretty good job of 'splainin your original post... enjoy your rifle and welcome to the club err, uh island or wait... what the hell is going on here and why did a hula girl just knock on my door and "lei" me?.. i like this concept of LaRue island... lots of luaus with piggies roasted in the ground covered in dillo dust!..
