Seriously considering purchasing a 16" OBR for a tactical purposes. I do not see myself shooting 1000 yd benchrest targets, but I would not rule out the challenge if it comes up. Give me some feedback on stocks, CTR, UBR, PRS, ACS, etc. What works, what doesn't for the OBR. I will carry this weapon 24/7 or have at my immediate disposal. Leaning toward the UBR or ACS. I have CTR's on my M4's and they work great for those platforms. |

One of the driving factors in choosing a stock for the OBR is the comb height vs. the rail/scope height. With the OBR's 20 MOA rail, you may not be comfortable with your normal cheek weld and a "riser" becomes necessary. The CTR with the added riser option seems to be the best light weight solution.
For me, the LMT SOPMOD works just fine. I'm able to get the eye relief I want for my Schmidt Bender on the long range stuff but also transition to an Aimpoint M4s for square range use. |

I have twins; one wears a PRS and the other a CTR. I originally thought I would like the PRS best, but now that I have one with a CTR, and I'll have to say the CTR with the riser fits better and is probably the better choice overall. Don't get me wrong, the PRS is a sweet stock, however keep in mind the check riser space had to be shortened by 1/2 inch (as compared to an AR-15 varient) to fit the charging handle length. I believe the CTR with the riser allows more forward cheek room.
Just my 2 cents. |

The LMT SOPMOD is certainly worth looking at. Assuming you have a 16" OBR, how does it balance? While I like the CTR, I have concerns about the cheek riser, will it come off easily? I go with KISS principles, keep it simple. Thanks for the responses..... |

I keep a few supplies (batteries, lube, tools, etc.) in the SOPMOD's side tubes, which add a couple of ounces, at best, to the stock weight. Even with a can, I am happy with the balance. |
