I know most folks are feeding their OBR's Federal Gold Match 168's.. But what about Scooby snacks for the OBR? Anyone shooting surplus ammo? If so what, and what was the result?

Thanks

Thanks, I was thinking of getting the SA stuff. When I had an AR-10 I shot that and the German stuff. The German stuff I think is pretty much unobtanium now.

A local range puts on a number of scenario based classes and I'm looking for other ammo to put through the OBR without always breaking the bank or needing >.5 MOA groups.

We've run surplus ammo of all types without any problems.

I was running '83 South African poop. It fired / cycled the OBR just fine. Groups were FUGLY 3" spread @100yds.

OK, thanks. 3" groups are fugly for this gun, but they'll worok just fine for this "type" of shooting. Once I get the shipping notice to my OBR, I'll order up some ammo for it.

Of course, I do have some .308 left over from my Rem 700 I'm gonna be selling.

I have tried the South African in mine but as soon as my rifle gets the slightest bit dirty it will not chamber the round. Usually this happens after about 8-10 rounds. I tried the FN stuff AIM is selling and that worked well, Also have some Radway green but have not tried it yet.

I've run Lithuanian FMJ thru my OBR with 1"-1.5" groups.
Never a hiccup, run it wetter than my wedding tackle on my honeymoon.
Now that I have the good brass, I'm loading my own.
