It's an external coating, so it makes no difference that I know of.  I prefer IonBond, as it protects your barrel, and it's about the toughest coating out there.  Won't chip, peel, crack, etc.  It's incredibly strong.

 



So, in my opinion, it's a matter of whether you want a black or silver barrel.







I like my black one.

outside coating on the barrel so it doesnt matter. Id get the Ion bonded just because SS can sometimes get specs of surface rust(at least my Sabre Defense one does)

I like the balck one too , I always thought SS was more accurate for some reason

I agree with the others so far.  It's just a matter of color preference, but Ion bond is more durable.  Looks great, too.
