So, whats it take to mount a bipod on an OBR?
Can you scew/adapt a harris stud adapter into the holes used for a OBR picatinny rail section? Can you scew/adapt a harris stud adapter into the OBR picatinny rail section itself? http://www.harrisbipods.com/HB2A.html Thanks, y'all. |

If you already have a Harris bipod use this to attach it to the picatinny rails:
LT-130 LaRue Harris Bipod Adapter If you don't have the bipod yet, go for this one: LT-706 BRMS combo |

Looks like Narc45ACP and jdhill about covered it...I have the LT-706 and it is a very nice bipod...solid. I have the Harris bpod. Is the QD LT-130 what you have on your combo? Thanks. No I have the 706....basically with the 706 LT marries they're QD mount and the Harris... From the LT website: After being prodded by some folks, we've attacked the problem of bipods. Here's the result. What we did is designed and machined a new built-in LT mount ... we cannibalize a Harris BRM-S ... merge it all together and VIOLA' ... glorious bipod goodness. It tilts left and right, it's lighter by several ounces than the original, it's got our LT-QD stuff on it. It's easy to put on and take off. It's spine is a Harris. It's all good. I have no doubt that the 130 will be just as good. If I had a Harris I needed to attach to an AR I wouldn't hesitate to get the 130... |

I have both the BRMS/LT-130 and the BRMS/LT-706. You only need the LT-130 since you already have the bipod. Here's what they look like together:

Here are a few comparison pics of the BRMS/LT-130 and the BRMS/LT-706 combos (BRMS/LT-130 on top, BRMS/LT-706 on the bottom of each pic) http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l152/rouelxprss/DSC06948.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l152/rouelxprss/DSC06952.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l152/rouelxprss/DSC06945.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l152/rouelxprss/DSC06950.jpg Not the best pictures but you can see that the BRMS/LT-706 has a lower profile because they mated the mount directly onto the body of the bipod. It's also lighter because of all the other parts that were taken out. The LT-130 is also good if you want to move your bipod to another platform that doesn't have picatinny rails. Hey thanks a bunch for the pics. I'm looking for the closest fit and also for a sling when carrying. |
