I got a brand spankin' new TexasSpec bolt carrier group for the person that clues me in with details regarding a local rumor ...
Here's the deal - It is rumored that some machining company in Texas, rumored also to be seeking a firearm manufacturing license (FFL), possibly based out of Taylor, TX, has now taken delivery on an OBR, and has a second one on order ... The only reason my interest is piqued is over an additional rumor that a former employee is involved. So, if anybody has any info, I got you a shiny new TexasSpec BCG sittin' on my desk ready to ship. Of course I got my folks combing through the our records, but in the meantime ... Email me at mark (@) larue tactical dot com Thanks in advance, M. LaRue |

Edited for the Texas-Spec NDA said employee signed Interesting observation. But no, that individual was here back when we relied on a man's word and his handshake ... Sadly, we were forced to change that policy.

Alas, we now live in a time when a man's word is worth less than a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin gettin' it on. Glad your interest are now protected. NDA's and NCA's- Need Both. Mentor once told me, "Be careful who you step on, on your way up the ladder; as you will surely see them again on your way down". Guess that fellow didn't get the memo. Keep up the good fight sir! | Unfortunately I have no information to help you out. However I will say that no matter what they do there is no way that they will hold a candle to your business. Anybody can machine a rifle...it takes a lot more than that to provide the quality and service that you get with LaRue. |

The only things bright in this world are My wife, My Son, and the possibility of owning an OBR in this lifetime. Mark, put Gravy in over watch and my team and I will bring the pain. | Well, you can search the SOS site https://direct.sos.state.tx.us/acct/acct-login.asp if you know the name of the business and want to find individual names. That's really all I can help with unless provided with a business or individual name. |
| You may have enough info in the HR department's records to find the current employer of the person of interest(POI). Many moons back when I lived in Louisiana, the state department of labor had my employment history in their computerized system. Could turn http://www.zabasearch.com/ loose on the POI too. |
| "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" or so they say. I hope nothing bad comes of this. Like was said in a previous post, anyone can machine a rifle, but it takes a true craftsman to create a great rifle. It takes a great man to create such a great customer service, which obviously this guy doesnt have this quality. |

Its just sad to hear about this and really pisses me off. And heck I don't even have an OBR.....if I had the money I would. But kids and wife come first. |

Wow, everybody is going off all half-cocked. All Mark said is that they hired a former employee of his, may be getting an FFL, and they bought two OBRs.
Maybe they like to shoot nice guns? Or maybe they plan to make accessories that are compatible with the OBR along with other 7.62 AR-family rifles? They may want to test their products (sling mounts, magazines, scope mounts, buttstocks, who knows?) on the OBR. Who said they plan to copy his OBR rifle? They may have taken delivery of DPMS LR-308s, Armalite AR-10s, and Remington R-25s too. Who knows? He said he's just doing some research to cover his ass and be prepared in case they do try to copy it, right? Jeez, people are already talking about poxes and douchebaggery like the unnamed company is already guilty of something.

If this was on the up and up, they would have just called LT and said "Hey, we wanna buy an OBR to make accessories for it" etc... It's safe to assume some kind of reverse engineering will take place. |

But nowadays you can't be too careful, we all know Mark has more than a "fist full of dollars" at stake here. Don't think this thread was started on just a," hey did ya hear"............? Back years ago, when I was into M14's, they had these piece of shit copies called polytechshitbag version that people bought for a few dollars less than originals. Last time I checked, LRB, who makes the absolute BEST M14 receivers are backed up almost a year on orders. Lots of shit made for the M14. Mark, you're due diligence is commendable. However, rest assured "if" this goes sideways, I for one will begin an OBR defen$e campaign. I can't imagine how sickening these kinds of rumors can make you feel. I'm not speaking for you but for me. Ain't nobody gonna fuck with my girl without going down, ––- HARD |

Well...you could call that douche* that jumped ya at SHOT. IIRC he was the self-professed master of extracting personal intel off the interweb *Sorry, but I forget his name. He is such a waste of skin it wasn't worth committing to memory. ha! waste of skin... funniest thing i've heard all week |
| This stuff happens . Ask Mark Serbu , his employee is on the other side of Tampa with knowledge he acquired from working for Serbu , A difference would be hired for skills vs. partner or hired for his Larue knowledge . It also depends on what happens whether they manufacturer or open a gun store |

Might be time to steal a page from the Dick Swan playbook and start trademarking anything and everything that doesn't move....
