Hello from North Texas - just got my first AR last week and had to place a small order with La Rue for magazines and a Dillo.
Like everyone else, I got a WHOLE lot more in my box than I ordered. Including some Dillo dust and a purple holiday Dillo. The purple Dillo was immediately claimed by my wife (her favorite color, so she may become a LaRue fan too). However the dust gave me an excuse to break out the smoker... (it doesn't take much) Date - 1/16/2010 Temp Ambient Approx 64 Target - 2 racks spares St Loius trimmed (with trimmings put on the smoker for leftovers) Heat - Approx 225 degrees (+/- 20) - 4 hours 10 minutes Altitude - 640' ASL (bottom rack) approx 642' top rack Hardware - 22" WSM with 3 chunks pecan 2 of hickory, previously proven to be capable of minute of flavor accurate Before - http://lh6.ggpht.com/_tf7c6aGz8Sw/S1MwnQsh45I/AAAAAAAAFGw/ECVAoutDAWY/s400/IMG_3765.JPG During - http://lh5.ggpht.com/_tf7c6aGz8Sw/S1MwqOKpxvI/AAAAAAAAFHI/F9NU_1evyDU/s400/IMG_3768.JPG 4 hours 10 minutes later (they were ready at 4 hours, but the dogs needed an 'out'. 100 pound shepherds and loose BBQ don't mix well) http://lh3.ggpht.com/_tf7c6aGz8Sw/S1MwqrZp3HI/AAAAAAAAFHQ/xkaz0rZKF-8/s400/IMG_3769.JPG And ready for the table http://lh6.ggpht.com/_tf7c6aGz8Sw/S1MwrV39nLI/AAAAAAAAFHY/J8IKQhT71Wk/s400/IMG_3772.JPG The ribs were good... there were no survivors... (well ok a few but they wound up in Dirty Rice) PS - I'll be ordering again - and probably wait-listing an OBR 5.56... sigh... BRD + BBQ all in one post. |
| i have two bottles of the dust just waiting to go on something. I am moving back home in a couple months and my father-in-law has two smokers. One of which is presently residing in the basement of the house we are going to live in. I might take adverse posession of his smoker. |
