I wanted to order a OSR and I cant the website is messed up. But I noticed that there is a OBR for the same price, is it the same rifle I wanted a 308 in a AR platform with a 20 inch barrel. I want to reach out, and I think the 20 inch would be a better reach than a 18 inch. Please correct me If I am wrong I need the info before the prices go up in less than 24 hours. thanks

Yes, the OBR is the OSR. It was renamed for copyright reasons. Quoted: I wanted to order a OSR and I cant the website is messed up. Larue only makes one 308 rifle
it WAS called OSR, now its called OBR due to A.R.M.S. having a product who has the initials O S R As for barrel length, yes longer will give you better velocity at range. For 168GR federal gold medal match the length at which you get max powder burn (as tested in a bolt action) is 20". Use Different load, you might get a different result. full powder burn=higher initial velocity=more velocity at range, that doesnt mean you cant shoot something at 1000 with a 16" (especially if you handload) as proven here earlier in the week but a longer gun will do it better/easier. for the math behind that click here the round in that example starts losing stability at about 1300fps (transonic transition, not as bad for other bullets) |
