What is the difference between DMR 16" upper vs. Stealth LTO11 in 16"  I am wanting to order a new upper and lower from Larue and wanted to know major differences and which one could offer more accuracy.

Thanks

Well, just looking at the two, there's some obvious differences.

The Stealth is more of an "optics ready" upper, designed for more accurate shooting, with a free floated handguard, and no front sight.  The DMR, however, is a more "traditional" upper, with the front sight base and sling swivel setup in place in front of the barrel.  Could that effect accuracy?  Sure...it could.  However, I have no doubt that you'd be more than happy with the results from any of their uppers.  I think it's more about the looks than anything.  I don't like the way a front sight base looks, and I prefer having folding sights, so that I can more comfortably use a scope on my rifle.

For the record, I have a 18"/ 13.2 rail stealth upper.  It shoots fantastic.

Oh, and someone should be along soon to correct me, and add more info.  Hell...you may hear from the man himself.  Best of luck.

When I bought a couple of 16" uppers from La Rue their sales staff explained to me the only difference between the DMR and the regular stealth upper is the FSP.  If you were using the upper in a MIL environment and want to "blend" in the DMR is the way to go.  Bottom line is that in terms or parts used and accuracy...they both are the same.

Ok,  thanks guys that's what I wanted to know, In looking at them online I knew the front sight post was an obvious difference, but I didn't know if there was something different in the internals, or barrel etc.   That makes my decision easier... I am also trying to decide on 18 inch vs. 16 inch.  I already own a 20" Colt, and I have for a while now wanted a short 16" just for easy carrying, and that is probably what I will go with.  Thanks again for the input

RRA is ok, just use a nice trigger.  The Geissele is nice, as is the Timney drop ins.
