Mark,

I thought I remembered reading in an older thread that you liked to get your hands on the fake mounts that are floating around.  Well, I was browsing the net and stumbled upon this mount.  It was priced quite a bit lower than a normal used mount, and upon some further investigation of the pictures, I saw that it was an imitation.  I decided to buy it so someone else wasn't duped into getting something that they thought was original Larue...without the Larue quality.  It wasn't too much and I figured at worst, I could slap it on an air rifle or .22.  I just thought I would check here first to see if you were still collecting the imitations, and if you would like me to send it your way I would be happy to.  Here's some pics I took of it.  (Please ignore the dusty glass)

Notice the cheap screws that are all facing the same way.

The lack of the oil can pictogram

No USA on the lugs or Larue stamping on the bottom.

The guy admits he is copying a patented product:
This mount also has a LaRue patented QD lever for fast removal.

Can't Larue's lawyers whack this guy's peepee?

I thought I hit the jackpot with a 1/2 price mount, but the more I looked at it it didn't look anything like my LT129.
Did a little search and found out about the clone mounts.
You do get what you pay for.

That asshat in PA burned some guys in my  unit. One SPC found a cheap LT mount and the firestorm started before myself or the other NCO's (shooters) knew about it.

I will say this, I hate PayPal, but PayPal paid some Joe's back for buying a fake product. The seller has been reported many times. Gun Broker just wants the $$$.

Now, if anybody bought with a USPS money order..... mail fraud comes to mind.

Burn the f'er

Willingly selling imported counterfeit items that violate US trademark law is generally a bad idea. Doing it in a public forum isn't very intelligent.

I'm guessing that US Customs may be paying him a visit sometime soon.
