What are people thinking as a setup for their OSR? I'm kinda torn between CQB and SASS but will probably go with the long range setup since I have a Stealth Upper/Billet lower on order also.
I'm thinking Magpul PRS and MIAD, Troy/LT BUIS, and SureFire brake. Other things like trigger and such are being taken care of as part of the stock config. Optics will be a Mark4 8.5-25. Harris bipod. At some point in the future I would like to add the SureFire suppressor but the paper work seems a little daunting. Barrel length is undecided. My only real issue is velocity. I have no worries about accuracy in relation to length, the 16.1 should be as, if not more, accurate as the 18 and 20. I am simply worried about bullet destabilization before 800-1000 yards. I'm interested in hearing others ideas and plans. |

I've got a Remington for the longer stuff, so I'm planning on a 16 inch barrel (the can adds nearly 9 inches), UBR, MIAD, Leupy 1.5x5, and lots of LR20s!!
Here's a similar thread that I started awhile back with more build specs by others, just for reference. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=219&t=170826 |
| I know this is off topic, but I've got an OSR ordered too and am undecided on the configuration as well, and am looking to start buying some ammo. Will the OSR be able to shoot .308 as well as 7.62x51? I've read about the differences between the 2 cartridges and am still unsure. |

Yep, the Troy BUIS is included I thought that was a misprint? That is what I read also. It does not come with the BUIS, but the rail is recessed for it. I have seen it, on two different occasions (both the flyer and online) state that the BUIS is included. Maybe MLR can give us the definite answer on this. |

I asked the guys at LaRue the same question and I was told the OSR will handle both, 7.62 and .308....if someone knows differently...please reply. Thanks, 77 |
