Buffer tube? You mean a receiver extension?  The threads are all the same, you have to decide if you wish to use a mil-spec or commercial diamter tube depending on the stock you want/have.

Sorry Mark - I said mil-spec.

I was under the impression that there were two buffer tubes...mil-spec and commercial?  I thought they where different diameters.  Are the threads all the same?

OK I think I got it now...

So does LaRue sell any butt stocks that have the "receiver extension" in them.  I looked on the web site but I dont see any...

The threads are the same. They are machined in a different way to achieve the same result, but both work. You choose which one you want or as the case may be now which one you can find!

Mil-spec and commercial refer to the outside diameter of the tube.  They both thread into any AR lower.  You're better off going with a mil-spec diameter tube because there are a lot more stocks available for them.

Mil spec tubes have an OD of 1.14" and commercial tubes are 1.17"
