So i recently ordered a couple slings from larue and with the order i got the normal flyer showing a tantalizing spread of larue gear.

Anyway, on the flyer there was an EOtech magnifier pivot mount pictured on the fyler. I haven't seen it on the website yet. is it avaliable? Also is it the right height to work on the EOtech riser?

thanks.

Would that not be the same mount that is used with the Aimpoint Magnifier

This mount is only for the Aimpoint magnifier. You can tell because it is a one piece mount so you can slide the Aimpoint magnifier in from the front. The EOTech magnifier has a bump in the front, so you can't do that.

AFAIK, LaRue never came out with an EOTech magnifier mount. If they did, I'd already have it for my 4X

I stand corrected, that mount is for an aimpoint magnifier. I did see this on the LaRue website however,

*A Pivot Mount designed for proper-use behind an LT-Mounted EOTech optic is in development.

Don't know about the Eo-tech magnifier though

I stand corrected also , I thought the mount was the same for the Eotech & Aimpoint magnifier ..

The eotech magnification has it's adjustments in the mount - the aimpoint magnifier has it's adjustment in the magnifier.

If Laure produce a mount for the EO magnifier it'll have to have those adjustment in the base - it'll be quite a bit more complex than the aimpoint magnifier mount.

True Magnification specs vs retail prices:

Aimpoint 3X: 3.0X magnification; $500.
EOTech 3X: 3.25X magnification; $400.
EOTech 4X: 3.75X magnification; $750.

If you're going to go with an EOTech magnifier, is an extra half power really worth another $350?

Personally, I'd rather have the Aimpoint, because you can get one in a LaRue FTS. Even better if they plan on making a FTS that'll cowitness on that little piece of rail at the back of the LT-110.

$0.02 deposited.

I just mounted a used aimpoint 3X magnifier in a LaRue FTS mount behind my Eo-Tech 512 and it rocks! I wouldn't spend the extra $$ on an Eo-Tech magnifier

Well, the EOTech 3X is a tad cheaper than the Aimpoint, but it's also not in a LaRue mount.

I never understood the price for the 4x Eotech magnifier, how someone could pay twice as much for that then the price of a 512 I will never know.

It was definatly not the aimpoint 3x mount pictured. it was pictured right next to the aimpoint mount and has a larger ring and isn't as tall i assure to mount on the larue eotech mount.

The 4x Eotech is not just slightly more powerful. The main difference is that it has a rectangular field of view to maximise the Eotech's field of view.
