SureFire Pen? OK, I admit it. At first I was skeptical. I’m a big fan of fine writing instruments, but I’m bigger fan of SureFire, so I kept an open mind. After un-wrapping my sample, well…it seems everything these folks touch turns to gold. I’m very impressed. You can find them HERE ![]() Aside from the superb machining, the weight and balance is just right. Mine weighed just under 2 ounces, and just over 6 inches in length. ![]() ![]() CNC-Machined from aluminum, the body has nice fluted details, with a comfortable triangular-shaped grip. The hard-anodized, matte black body is accented with stainless-steel tip and pocket clip. I was pleased to see a conservative “SF” logo on the pocket clip. Very classy. Anything else would scream “tradeshow handout”. ![]() The window breaker is also a nice touch. My sample came with a Scmidt easyFLOW 9000 cartridge. Pen snobs would recognize that name…lets just say, it does the job. Replacement cartridges are easy to find. ![]() Operation is as simple as the design itself.. Just twist the body to expose the pen tip. A rubber o-ring makes the twist nice and smooth, and keeps it tight. The Schmidt cartridge flows smoothly, and effortlessly. Twist in the opposite direction to retract. To sum it up, I just found my new favorite pen. Well done! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I'm heading to a local junkyard this afternoon...I'll see if I can test it then. |

I saw it again last night when I was looking for "extras" to throw into my shopping cart. Love the fluting. I can't justify the $$$ on a pen, but I understand that it's kind of like fine cigars, or more appropriately, tactical mounts. If you're the type who uses one day-in and day-out, you will appreciate the quality. If I were a LEO, I'd probably spring for one for report-writing. If I were an exectutive type, I'd probably also spring for one. |
LOL at this and what an earlier poster said about LaRue making a mount for it. I looked at it for quite a while last night before finally having the epiphany that the pen cost more than the mount in my cart!

Well, we move a right smart amount of Surefires here and figured that some really diehard SF fans would want one, if nothing else because they may not make but a few of 'em. It's not been a stampede, but I'll be darned, we boxed and shipped several already. And shucks, I might just sneak in there and ... ![]() ML |
OK, OK.... Fair 'nuff. -0311Hoosier P.S. - Semper Fi ! |
If you train long enough, hard enough, and diligently enough, you should be able to do the same with a 10 cent Bic pen: "Iron

+1 Twice the quality for 2/3rds the price? I'd take two. |

Wha-wha-what?!? I would buy one of those in a heart-beat. Much more practical than plastic flamingos or rubberized deer in the front yard. |
My LCP has taken two round trips with me so far and they haven't even mentioned it. I did feel a twinge of apprehension each time my laptop bag went through the X-ray machine though. Not really cuz I thought I would get in trouble (It's obviously a pen), but because they might confiscate my expensive pen. |
There is no reason we cant have both, a sweet pen with the LT symbol, AND! life-size dillos in all the various colors....FDE, OD Green, ... |

honostly its not that bad for a quality pen. if you dont like the price dont buy it. at least its not as bad as this Most Expensive Pen in the World |
Okay, just for posterity sake, I am going to order one this afternoon. Mark, make sure you hook me up when you see the order. I can always use some more LT swag. JR ETA: The deed is done. |
Maybe if you just started. If you had been working a while you'd know that you don't buy expensive pens, some scroatbag will steal them from you. |
