Speaking of Dillos, I went to open a bottle of Sam Adams that I got from a bulk pack of 24 purchased at Costco while increasing my home stockpile. What I noticed when I applied the Dillo was that the inner circumference of the teeth on the Dillo tool was larger than the teeth on the bottle cap. So large, in fact, that the Dillo was unable to grab/hold the Sam Adams bottle cap. I have no doubt in the quality of manufacturing of the Dillo tool itself. It is a fine piece of machined metal. What I am now concerned about is the question of industry standards. Is there a standard size for bottle caps? Are Sam Adams bottle caps normally smaller than the tool is useful for? In the interest of following ARFCOM procedures, I will attempt to provide pictures and micrometer measurements in the near future! |
I disagree. Out of their entire line, I only like one or two. I much prefer real microbrews. And I mean really microbrews, like what a friend of mine brews at home. |
![]() I use a Dillo on my Sam Adams bottles all the time. You are either making this story up, or you're using the wrong part of the Dillo cause ya don't realize that Sam Adams doesn't have twist off caps. eta - sorry didn't notice that someone already mentioned the lack of twisties. |
you're old enough to drink?

Classic! Now that's got me thinking I need to find a tritium vial to epoxy in the dillo eye. I almost lost mine in the dark on the 4th. |
|
tritium vial hmm that might just work. some clear epoxy and you'd be good to go |
I cant tell you how hard this made me laugh. Im in DC right now doing some work, so Ive really been experiencing the 'anti' nature of this place. |
I do what I can, its nice to know my intellectual property is appreciated |
Perhaps I shouldn't have tried to use my Dillo while drunk... |
I too caught it and enjoyed. |
