Got this one yesterday. First blood for this rifle. Approximately 100 yrd shot through some dense foliage w/a .223 55 grain hornady v-max. Had 2 come in and missed the first one. I called it back in but couldn't get a shot then this one came in a couple min later.

My two does from yesterday LT-104 mount and LT tactical sling just one note on the sling I absolutely love the adjustment on it but it tends to slip off my shoulder. I am trying to figure out what might help it stay put, maybe wider shoulders  . Warning graphic pic of a perfect "Texas Lung Shot"

Damn coyotes in my area know what a rifle looks like! Maybe I need to doll my OBR Lite up in multi cam gear so I can these chicken/sheep killin bastards!
I'm hoping over turkey day Vac week, I get the chicken killin bobcat! Gotta wait for a no/low moon nite. Can't wait to get pics of that one put up! It's a decent sized sumbeech. First time i took my DPMS AP4 anywhere but the range.....
She seems to like the taste of blood!! yote was at a dead run at about 75 yards..... he tripped HARD! bunny was running and had a good head start.... after several rounds were thrown at him, we found him laying in the ditch my AP4 has a new VFZ mount to assist in Killing shit!

2 shots 2 kills out of my 18inch OBR with SPR mount. The little button buck ran 20 yards and the doe dropped in her tracks with a headshot right below the right eye. The button buck was shot behind the shoulder and ripped half of its stomach out the other side. I was using a Sierra 168grain HPBT.

Friday afternoon about 1630 I eased over the hill and spotted a sounder of the wiley tuskers eating corn in the middle of the road. Note the Aimpoint T-1 with LT-724 Angled QD mount Combo atop my firestick and the TX Dillo patch on the cover atop my grape.

4-3-11 This boar was trying to slip past me by going behind my stand on the other side of a brush line about dusk. Once he cleared the third big oak tree he skylined himself near the crest of the hill. I launched a .458S 300gr TTSX from 87 yds and he was DRT. LT UDE FUG and rail covers with some index clips on vacant top rail of the .458S. Entrance hole is just behind the right shoulder. A buddy who does euro mounts took the head to make a sample to drum up business. I'll update with pics when he gets it finished.

I'm very proud of my 11 year old today. He shot his first deer yesterday at 50 yards using a 16" LaRue PredatAR with a Micro T1/LT660. So begins his journey...

I guess I'll get in on this, even though I wasn't using one of my LaRue rifles. It did have a LaRue mount for the Comp M4, and the FTS mount for the Aimpoint magnifier––so I'm qualified for this thread.
The 18" OBR heavy is too heavy to hike with and hold steady w/ no rest and a can/nightforce on, and the Stealth is waiting for the Surefire Mini to get in. Killed these two about a month ago. 168gr of Hornady TAP put them down where they stood (gonna use cheap 147gr surplus next, just wanted to see what the TAP would do). Deer season is overran with pigs, so I am about to open up on them again this week.

I fudderized my OBR...
Shot my first deer (117lb dressed)...shot last night 11/15 @ 1630. Range 125+/- yards 168gr TAP. Deer ran about 50 yards tops...then lights out. This is the second kill my OBR has made...some you may remember the "Outstanding Bear Rifle" thread posted by Surf back in September. |

Coyote from last winter.....Rifle is a 12.7" LWRC, but with LaRue mount holding the M4s onto the receiver. Caught him running between 250-275 yards. Not gonna lie, took a couple shots, but he didnt mind.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us 5.56 OBR and a bunch of accessories are currently on order to see what we can kill this year. Will probably be a slew of yotes and maybe a bobcat....even though we farm, I kinda wish we had some hogs to shoot around here! |

At my dad's place have recently developed a pretty serious hog problem. They are really rooting things up and destroying a lot of stuff. Since it's Christmas I decided to take my girlfriend hunting for her first time. She has shot a wide variety of guns with me and is most familiar with my AR15. I decided to have her shoot this gun cause she has never shot my deer rifles before. We climbed up in one of our stands that overlooks a corn and a protein feeder. Just before dark this guy walks out and she nails him at 100 yards. I searched for an entry and exit wound, but could not find any. My only conclusion is that the 55gr XM193 did not exit and leaves such a small entrance wound that the hide just closes up around it. Regardless, the animal ran about 100 yards, kicked a few times, and never moved again. What a beautiful shot on her first animal.     Two nights later this guy walks out of the woods at the same feeder about 50 yards away. He stops broadside too us and she gets him right in the head. The pig dropped in his tracks, kicked a few times, and was DRT. Literally a perfect shot. This hog was smaller than the first, but still a nice kill. We had a blast and she greatly enjoyed her first hunts.    |

Hog Assault Vehicle flushed this boar who only ran about 20 yards and stopped with his hind end stickin' out of the brush. Anchored him right there with a 55gr Trophy Bonded Bearclaw to the pelvic area. A neck shot from 10 yds immediately finished him.
An LT-724 is holding down the Aimpoint T-1. A nice USMC/LT Morale patch is on the cover holding down my flowing locks.
