I just got my two v2 Black Nitride .223/5/56 AR/M16 C158 BCGs and the gas key staking seems kinda weak.

Just got mine also. I think it is fine, the staking hits the bolt head and should do its job of keeping the bolt from loosening.

Yup. That looks a little DPMSey to me.

Yep, mine seem a little better than that but  a lot weaker than the Daniel Defence carrier i have.

I guess you have three choices.

1- send them back for correction or refund.

2- improve the staking yourself.

3- shoot it and see how it works out.

Grab an automatic center punch and improve it.

If the staked portion touches the screws, then it's perfectly fine.

the company the makes the V2s uses a pnuematic staker, so 100% of them look the same, the ones i looked at were touching.   If you want, i can use my MOACK on it if you send it over attention Bryan

Here is a better picture of the blurred BCG in the OP.  It has the best strike of all of them and this is the lower right strike of the lower BCG.

What's a MOACK?  And I suppose you mean to send it back to AIM?

I got my AIM Nitride V2 BCG yesterday.  I, too, am a little disappointed in the staking.  But I guess 3 out of 4 ain't too bad.  Come on AIM!  You can do better.

My v2 bcg staking is weak at best. The guys ay the counter tell me they are side staked. Will you correct this or can i get my money back? The staking is not acceptable...

Can't wait for these to show up as used.  A couple taps with a punch and they will be A-OK.

What happened to the Garage Sale thread anyway?

Bryan,

Is one side touching the screw enough of a staking?
4/7/2016 11:21:28 AM EDT
[#21]
if both screws have it, the staking is there to keep the screw from backing out
