I've been hoping for a long time that one of the outfits that sells budget style uppers would put something out in .22lr.  I've decided that I think that should be AIM.  So you need to team up with radical or Anderson or something, and put out a series of .22lr uppers.  Maybe 2-3, like one 4.5" barreled one, a free floated upgraded one, and an el cheapo m4 style.  Or just cut out the m4 style and put out something like those radical fgs uppers.

If you could make that happen somewhere in the $300-350 range, I'd own at least 2 more uppers from you.

Side note- I don't know why most of the .22 uppers are so expensive.  Can use lighter profile barrels, assume cheaper steel can be used, no gas tube or block, no gas port drilled, etc...  Of course we are talking about different twist rate and obviously a different bcg assembly, but if think that the parts that aren't needed compared to a centerfire upper would help balance out that cost.

Would anyone else be into some aim rimfire uppers?

I have one from CMMG that has been 100% for me using CMMG mags.  Mine is an M4 clone, but with one of those "shorter" railed gas blocks that I've had for like 6 years.

It has been 100%, however I've only ever shot federal bulk pack ammo through it, and a few CCI stingers or whatever.  Never had an issue with any of those.

Maybe I got lucky?

Yeah, but not what I'm looking for.  I prefer a more accurate .22, and will be using it as a dedicated upper no matter what.

also, I would never put a suppressor on a .22 with a 1/7 or 1/9 twist.

Looking for the same.  Would definitely buy with Bryan's stamp of approval. Would buy two just for the hell of it.  Please keep looking!

This is very true.  I would never use a drop in.

I love you.  No homo.

My wife probably hates you, as my aim order history total $ could buy her a new minivan.  Or an M16.  Dear lord I'm glad she has never logged into my aim account, and has her own for ordering my gifts.

Serious-  if you want someone for t&e on an aim .22 upper, Give me one at cost and I will promise 5k rounds suppressed and unsupressed, with different lowers/triggers/mags etc...

I looked into dedicated .22lr uppers last year and given their cost and reliability, I bought a M&P15-22. For a few more dollars I got a whole new rifle. They're reliable enough, fairly accurate (4 MOA), a great beginner or AR trainer, and cheap if you wait for sale.

That's the marketplace competition, and the Ruger 10/22. I'm not saying a dedicated .22lr upper wouldn't sell but it would have to be inexpensive (not necessarily cheap), reliable and accurate (<2 MOA). I suspect the volume isn't there.
