Will you be willing to reconsider your policy on providing tracking for firearm purchases? Thank. |

Will you be willing to reconsider your policy on providing tracking for firearm purchases? Thank. Bryan can obviously answer for himself, but I'll tell ya they won't change the policy. They will, however, always tell you the ETA of the gun if you call and ask. A gun going directly to yourself, however, and you can have the tracking #. |

Just out of curiosity why is this. Every other retailer that I've purchased firearms from provides me with tracking info. ATF asked us not to give them out, because of how easy it is for you to take that tracking # to UPS and they would hand you the gun. And it really is that easy, last year I went to the UPS building with a tracking #, for a gun for AIM, they handed it to me without checking my ID, and I walked out with it. |

Did the ATF ask all online vendors to do that? |

i am not sure, they were here in person, you will find that when dealing with ATF, every region has hot buttons, this was our offices hot button. And not all dealers get audited as often, the closer you are to a field office, the more you get visited. We get a visit every 3 years, the guys at century once went thirty years between visits.
I also think the dealer who was giving tracking #, and the packges were getting stolen, was down the road, so it was fresh on the mind by our auditors |
