| Ordered a Spike's middy barrel over the weekend, there were 17 showing in stock at the time. It was going to be the final item to finish my new build, and it was going to save me a good bit of $ compared to the other barrels I was looking at. Got the email today that the barrel was not in stock due to inventory error, and my order was canceled. I realize mistakes happen (this is actually the second time I've ordered something that wasn't really in stock) and I'm not mad, just bummed that I have to spend more $ elsewhere. I'm still an AIM fan though, and I'll be back. |
| Hi Bryan, no I was not told that. I was told they were not in stock, there was no eta on them, and I should sign up for email notification if i was still interested. Maybe I could let my order stand until they show up? I'm not in a huge hurry for it. Let me know, thanks. |

sorry, I wish we knew before shipping a bunch of them out! I get mine today and I'm prepared for it to not have the gas block. Now that's a bummer. I know it's on spikes and I'm not complaining to Aim just a hassle to have to ship it back and wait. I bet my wait is longer than 2 weeks. |

Yes, pin will only start from one side, but it is way too tight. It barely starts into the gas block. I think someone drilled it and threw a pin in the bag and didn't bother to test fit it. At any rate it has to go back. Trying to put the pin in seems to have raised a burr in the gas block, and now it is way too tight on the barrel. Do I need an RMA or anything?

let me look Monday, do they go in only one direction? |

Yes, it's the optimum profile. The pin was not installed when I got it. It was in a bag and looked new, not a mark on it. I wish it had been installed, at least then I would have known that it fit. How far would your pin go in before you had to start hitting it?

Was it pinned on when you got it? Is this one of the optimum profile spikes /FN chf barrels? if so i have one and it was very tight getting the pin out and back in, but would rather have it tight then loose.. |
| Gas block pins are not tapered pins. Align the gas block correctly.Tighten the set screw to lock it in place. Then using a flat faced punch drive the pin into the gas block until indexed evenly on both sides. It requires a heavy hand on the hammer. Not for the feint of heart. |

It took some solid whacks when it was lined up just right.. nice and tight... |

I guess I could take another look at it, but the pin barely even starts into the gas block. Hitting it would just rotate the gas block. Once I got the pin to reach the groove in the barrel, it started to deform the gas block. Now it doesn't fit right. So it probably has to go back anyway.
