Hey AIM, you guys have been great so far and I am new to AR's so I thought I would voice my concern. I got an AIM NiB BCG and it makes a funny noise when it slides in the receiver, I posted a picture and video and they said to post here and see what you think. I am not sure that its good, I feel it might really tear into my receiver.

I think it's the machine marks that's causing the noise.  If you run a finger along it, does it feel like very fine serrations?

Yes thats why I've taken a picture of them The issue is I want to know if AIM has had complaints about this before, if I need to return the BCG, or if it will not damage my receiver and will eventually break in.

Well I am not an expert so what I am trying to figure out is this normal or are you saying its bad and should be replaced?

the sound is fine, if the picture is of what i think it is, it should be fine to use.

But if you would like it switched out we can do it

The picture is the raised contact patches on the 4 and 8 o clock positions on the bcg. If you think its ok and will wear in and not damage the receiver I'll trust you and run it.

Nope sorry I can't do it, I've just been picking up the rifle and manually cycling it a few times every hour today just to see what happens and its wearing down the inside of my upper at an alarming rate. I emailed customer service asking for a refund. I just don't feel good running this thing in my rifle. I don't need a new receiver or anything, just need my money back and I will buy a higher quality BCG from someone who's got one in stock. Nothing against AIM, still a great company with a pretty good selection, but I must have gotten a fluke.

My new Aim NIB bcg chewed up the gas rings within 250 rounds. I replaced them last night, I will try it again to see if it does it again. Not that I care but the NIB coating is all stained from clp. The coating doesn't seem to be as robust as the spikes Nib bcg I have.

Nothing against AIM,  Brian takes very good care of me, and my money

So then why not just get an exchange?
