On Friday 1/11 I made an order for the CTR AK combo stock on the Aim Surplus website.  I received a prompt e-mail confirming my order.  I called today, Tuesday 1/15 to see if my order shipped.  Unfortunately, we have some smart allecs in the neighborhood who like to steal packages left at the door. So, I like to know when a package is coming so I can arrange to have someone pick it up.  I spoke with Linda.  She requested my last name and my zip code.  She could not find it in the computer.  I explained that I received a conformation e-mail.  Linda asked for the last four digits of my order #.  I gave them to her, and she left to search. She came back to the phone a few minutes later and said that she still could not find my order, that it was probably waiting to be processed. She asked this time for the item #.  I looked up the number on the website and gave it to Linda.  She again left to search.  She came back a few minutes later and said that she thought that the stock was out of stock and that she had no ETA on when the stock would come in.  I told Linda that I thought that this was too long to process an order, and that the website should state that the part is out-of stock and that I wanted to cancel my order.   Linda was very polite and helpful but offered no apology.  She assured me that my order would be cancelled but could not give me a cancellation number or authorization, which makes me feel a little sketchy since they can't even find my order.

This is very disappointing and surprising based on Aim's great reputation.  I think took too long to process an order, let alone not even be able to locate the order itself.  Geez, if it had been a firearm or ammo I'd have been very concerned.  It's bad business to not state on the website that the item is out-of-stock or backordered.  Would I have ever been contacted or just sitting and waiting?

I think Linda got confused, we actually shipped your order Monday morning (that was the first working day after you ordered on Friday).   I think she thought you were waiting on a magpul 310 ctr which she was calling guys for at the time.   I apologize for the confusion, i am going to send you a IM, with additional info

Bryan,
Thank you for your help. No problem on the mix-up. Computers can be difficult to work with sometimes (or all the time).  I couldn't ask for more than having the order processed AND shipped within one business day.  Thank you for looking into this matter.  Now I know why Aims has such a good rep.  They process and ship fast, resolve issues.  Thanks again for your help.

PS:  Thanks for the e-mail, sorry about my message box.

I'll let everybody know how it is. Proof positive on how they actually do good business at Aims. They do have several products w/ the CTR stock at Aims, and I can see how there might have been a miscommunication, and I never fault anyone for having a computer issue ( I do, all the time).
