Hello TNVC:

Rumor has that one should not use rechargeable batteries in NV gear.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Good question. I was wondering this myself, but have not put any in my PVS14's.

You can certainly use them, however the voltage is unpredictable at best. Not consistent enough in my opinion and wont give your unit the power it needs to work optimally. Lithium is where its at.

In other words, don't use them. Why take the chance when a set of Lith's (1st choice they do best in the cold) and Alkaline's have a usage of 38-42 hours continuous.

Thanks for the replies.

Maybe my question is better asked "will rechargeable NiMH batteries damage my TNV PVS-14."

They can if the voltage fluctuates too much and/or they rupture. Do not chance it, no need with the normal battery hours you can expect with the examples above....
