First off - I want to say thank you for making EXCELLENT handguards. This is literally my 7th evolution handguard (between Samson directly and Rainiers version). That being said, I am having an issue with this one.

I purchased the 15'' evo keymod from Brownells last week to use on my 6.5 Grendel build. Everything was going very smooth - though once I took some pictures of the rifle I noticed my barrel was nowhere close to being centered in the handguard. I was able to move it by hand and center it - so I decided to tighten the clamping bolts some more. All seemed well. This morning I get to the range and the handguard seems to be moving just from supporting the rifle on the rest. After a couple shots it looked like this -

I believe that I've tightened the bolts enough - as the ears are fully engaging each other as shown...

The barrel nut is standard mil spec and the thermal bushings fit exactly as they have on all my other builds. I know the barrel nut is not loose because I am getting fantastic accuracy out of the rifle.

Any advice on what to do?

I had the same problem with a used Samson STAR-M rail that I picked up.  I contacted their customer service about it and they sent a UPS return sticker.

I sent it back and they had a brand new rail back to me within about 10 days.

Since I had not heard back from Samson - I went ahead and did a return to Midway USA and ordered the Rainier Arms version of the Samson rail. I am having the exact same issue despite switching to another barrel nut just to rule that out.

I'm very confused and a little disappointed so far

I emailed them today about an order I placed on their website a couple days ago, as I did not receive a confirmation email or a shipping email. (I checked my spam folder also)

I got a reply within an hour.

You might email their sales department.

Interesting. I may have to try that. I emailed Jan 21 but haven't heard back. I figured SHOT show would slow things down, but this is a bit much.

I emailed the [email protected] email address. I will forward to you. I haven't gotten to the range since I got the smaller screw on the bottom completely tight, but you may have some other advice for me.

And you're SURE the thermal bushing is not on upside down? I have to ask because I was sure once and couldn't figure out why my rail was off center and I was also able to move it easily by hand. Flipped the thermal bushing and it locked up tight.
