It is a proprietary barrel nut, but it can be installed with most GI barrel nut wrenches, however we also include a barrel nut wrench to use with the hand guard. Thank You Andy MI |

Did you check their web site? It says right there that it is 9.9 ounces including the barrel nut for the SSK 15 inch and about a half ounce less if it is the lightweight SSK. 11.8 oz. for the .308 if that is what you meant but no mention of length or if it a hi or lo rail.
I use the DPMS Armorer's tool, the scalloped side, and it works like a champ, grabbing a lot more than just three points on the barrel nut, but the one MI includes will get the job done equally well. Just make sure to keep it square on the barrel nut and do not let it angle off or it will slip, but any will do that if you get careless. |
